The Manchester United Thread

Great u18s game today even though we lost 3-4 to a fantastic Chelsea side. Could and should of won. Gave away a silly peno and they scored the winner in the 8 or 9 min of injury time. Don't know where that came from. Goals scored by Burkart, Hamilton, Buffonge who was fantastic when he came on for injured Gomes who himself was fantastic.

Don't know if he'll ever be if he doesn't be more clinical.
Yeah agree but don't think that was his problem today, his two shot were fantastically saved from Valdes. It's his hold up play and link up play. God knows what was wrong with Mky today worst player on the pitch! Rojo and Bailly should be our starting CBs for the rest of the season.

Can see why Mourinho wants 2 attacking players. Can't see any young players coming in, especially if he's looking for consistency in attack. Griezmann will go a huge way to sorting that out. Will be interesting to see who the second one will be.

Scoring has been a problem all season to be fair, but on the positive side the defence had another clean sheet even with Jones and Smalling out only Spurs have let in fewer goals. With any luck City will draw with Arsenal tomorrow.

Absolutely no chance of top 4 now. How can you go half a season unbeaten and still be absolute ****? Definitely need to win the Europa now

Only positive from today's match is that Zlatan has served the last game of his suspension.

Lukaku?

It was just a suggestion personally I don't rate Lukaku he's more of a mid table team player for me.
He reminds of of Rooney a bit, scores in bursts then not for a few games. And his overall game is pretty poor imo. Really can't think what experience good players are available tbh. Maybe Augbamyang might be leaving, Sanchez. God knows!? Most probs Griezmann, Gimenez, one of Bakayoko or Fabinho, a FB who can play both right and left. Then a STR.

United need a regular scorer, Rashford isn't ready and needs a few more seasons to really be effective (he's not yet consistent enough to lead the line whilst Rooney is now past it as a first choice). Griezmann would be nice if rumours are true but at this point I would rather wait and see.

Ducker who is usually the most reliable has said on numerous occasions that the work with the players has already started. And Di Marzio has said he's Mourinho No1 target this Summer. Still need another attacker though.

The thing about Griezmann, even though he has 58 in 102 over the last 3 seasons, he's not an out & out prolific goalscorer. If United sign him, I'd still expect another striker if Mourinho's not happy with what he's got.

Which leads to the next debate....

Have Martial & Rashford stalled, or dare I say went backwards under Mourinho? A proven winner Mou is, no doubt, and I'm confident of him bringing success back to this club, most likely via chequebook... But is his nurturing of young attacking players more of an issue than we refused to believe when everyone told us, and we brushed it off? There's a difference between throwing them out there, criticising them if they don't pull up trees.... and progressing and protecting them!

Yeah... what's your thoughts? Griezmann coming in would not be just to add goals but quality and consistency we seriously lack in the final 3rd. Don't think they have gone backwards tbh. Think it's just inconsistency and the fact they were both so good in there break through seasons. They will be fine. Another thing that's clear as day is that teams are definitely double even sometime tripling up on them this season.

How about Dybala or Morata?
Morata maybe a no no especially if Madrid play hard ball and want De Gea.

Martial had stalled to a certain extent whilst Rashford is going through one of those phases most young players go through in their second season in the first team.
