Hamez is a luxury buy and absolutely not what we need. Waste of 50 million imo.

Don't think it's a luxury buy tbh. I've stated the reasons why previously. And we're not gonna get a player of his quality for about 42m. Not when players like Bolasie are going for 30ish.
 
Yes he can play outwide, but for me it's just another case of buying a no.10 and shoehorning them to play there.

I mean, I really miss the days of actually having wing play with wingers who would beat their main on the outside and can cross a ball. Most of the time what we get now is people who just cut inside and make it easy as **** for their opposing fullbacks.
 
Can see both sides of this.

Rodriguez is not really needed (unlike other positions)

But it's hard to turn down a player of his ability for 40 odd million when lesser players aren't too far off that price these days.

United have the luxury of a big budget, if they don't fix the problems they have elsewhere then this is a stupid buy.

If they fix the other areas and get Rodriguez then I think it will be considered a bonus

Rashford and Martial will do that on the left wing

Yeah sort of get what you mean. But there ain't a great deal of wingers like that about. Plus we don't really have a natural No10 at the club. Mata has played most his career out right. And Mky had his best season playing RW cutting in.

Edit- Hunter also just said about James being a done deal.

So is Hamez solving any problems we have? If we had problems with creating chances then yes, sign him but we are top 3 in chances created in the epl this season so that's not the issue. The issue is finishing these chances. Hamez isn't a renowned finisher.

So because he's "cheap" for someone of his quality, we should just get him? That's like going to a store and buying some ornament when you've got your living room filled with them...all just because the price is low for its actual value.

James is just as good at scoring goals as he as at creating chances, his left foot is lethal

I think Lacazette will do well wherever he goes, finishes his chances often and scores regularly over the last few years. Might be worth a look.

Also, have the Griezmann rumors now turned in to Bale haha

Hes scores goals. He's a good finisher and great at set pieces also which we have been ***** at for ages. He can beat a man, is fairly decent pace and will be good at unlocking teams that park the bus.
 
Something tells me that Griezmann will stay at Atletico for another year, as it seems Simeone is staying as well.. and with James now signed at Griezmanns position pretty much...

But who knows! Maybe Mou plans to play Griezmann as Striker if he signs!
 
That awkward moment when you've got a team next season consisting of Rodriguez, Griezzmann, Pogba, Mkhitaryan, Mata, Martia, Rashford and still park the bus! XD

I hope to god he is coming back for the final. If not I really do worry about us going into that. Our midfield is totally different without him.

Don't forget Bale, he's got experience at left back and he's quite tall ;)
