The Manchester United Thread

yeah totally with you,big pete had such presence and was a giant.best save i ever saw him make was that banks like save in a european game but i forget whether it was champions league. Was opposition a hungarian team or similar?

god bless les.we had some shockers after pete though didnt we.take your pick on who was the worst.mind you, pool had a few dodgy keepers didnt they scouse

I was being serious there. Sealey rightly has a cult hero status at Utd. He gave f-ing EVERYTHING EVERY game.

And he saved Ferguson's **** and kept him in employment from that absolute bag of ***** Leighton.

But yeah, the time after Schmeichel should serve as a warning to loosing de Gea. You never truly replaced him until you dropped fortunate on an ageing flyer with van der Sar. Replacing such a top class difference maker isn't as easy as people make out.

The PL, anyone not called Grobbelaar or Reina covers a dodgy keeper for L'pool.

BTW, total if related aside talking Sealey, every Utd fan I've ever known personally who goes the game say's Rotterdam the Cup Winners Cup in '91 is the best European final experience. Topping even Barcelona in '99 your greatest ever season as surprising as that sounds.

Just one mad f-off party full of genuine lads before the 'new breed' of fan the PL has brought about.

Never forget the League Cup game Utd 1990/1991? Sometime around there. Anyway, ugly night as every game between us in particular was back then which carried on inside the ground. There's cups of **** and coins coming down the seats above the scoreboard end terrace, and some Utd lads trying to come over from the sides. (Fun times. NOT!). And Sealey's in the goal our end second half as you're coasting to a 3-1. And he's receiving and giving **** back and forth to the point he went behind the nets and was offering lads out!

Kind of got to respect a 'keeper SO off his head he wants to take on a whole away end!

Zlatan just posted an vid on instagram. Looks like he in a field or garden. Shows him jogging on the spot and doing ball work :)

The touch will never disappear. Lions don't recover like humans.

ok,interested to know what u guys think whos the better gk.peter schmeichel or david dea.who would u rather have in your united eleven?

Easy... Schmeichel, and make him Captain.

I'd accept around £80m personally, **** of a lot of money for a GK.

If De Gea wants to leave I say just accept it, if he doesn't then turn them all down no matter how much

**** the money. A lack on money is the one problem United dont have.

You can have DDG if we can Bale or Kroos

The fact that we havent accepted a world record GK bid is probably because he isn't all that bothered about the move either way. There's no way they would have turned it down with him knowing.

No offence guys but most of you were saying week or two back 'De Gea is definitely going'.... now you're saying 'Forget any money they offer'.

I think it's quite clear De Gea would want the Madrid move, but he has always gone about it in a respectful way so that's why you most likely won't see him force it. But I stand to what I say, if they offer £80m, we should let him have his wish and go.

Replacing a GK isn't easy, but it certainly is a good time to do it now we are not as reliant as we were under LVG and Moyes for his heroics. Plus I always think Mourinho sides benefit from having more of a commanding goalkeeper.
