There's an important part of Jose's quote from the press conference thats mentioned there.

He said he doesn't think it was a good feeling for De Gea after Real "closed" the possibility of a transfer last season. We opened the door again this but DDG closed it again, he is happy here and will be difficult for him to leave now.

I've said all along Fabinho would of been our best choice but it seems it is either Matic or Dier. Most likely Matic.

Matic is a good player, but I just don't like this move for the price we're paying when it made so much more sense to get Fabinho who can operate two positions both in midfield and RB. Plus the age factor.

£50m for Matic just seems excessive, but it's still an improvement in midfield.

Fabinho is keen. Monaco are not. And they have 100m extra in their pocket

I feel he was gettable, particularly earlier in the window, if we had of made the move early and laid the money down he would of been a United player imo. Plus out of all the players they have sold thus far, he was one they made a promise to that he could go this summer.

Seems a shame, but it's not to be it seems.
 
Mourinho said he wants 4 men; Lukaku & Lindelof already signed, Perisic the 3rd target, but the 4th is not quite as clear.
 
Ooops forgot about Matic. Lol.

Hope Shaw gets fit and firing this season.
