Why on earth you got rid of johnny evans all them years back ill never know. All his CB partnerships get moves and he is the one who was carrying them.

I can’t quite recollect why but it was Van Gaal’s call considering his first choice, at the time, where Blind and Mike Smalling.

He could’ve possibly saved us £80 million on Maguire

: “It could be, of course, but no decision to sack him yet, and the feeling you get from conversations around Old Trafford, for now, all remains CALM.They do want him to continue, because they have clearly invested in him. Rumors he has lost the dressing room is not accurate. The tension is clearly growing and the attention is on him”. #MUFC [

After Ratcliffe and co F this up SO spectacularly with the ‘review’ bunkum after the Cup Final, I don’t see how they could possibly bin him right now!?

They’d look even more stupid and incompetent than they do already. And how do you go back to all the managers that turned them/ they turned down? 🤷🏼‍♂️Begging is never a good look.

Stranger things have happened, but I’d wager he’s there until at least Chrimbo. Then it’ll be ‘RUUUUUDDDD!!!!!’ time. Where everyone gets excited and Legend fools himself again into thinking Utd aren’t as mid-table ***** as this incarnation is aftetr a few feel-good results. Until the players CBA and stop trying for him like they have everyone else since Ferguson.

Then the whole process starts again in the summer with the next man.

We’re in Sunk cost fallacy **** featuring INEOS lol…say what you want about the glazers but Ten Hag would’ve been sacked a long time ago. I just don’t see this improving…the last 14 months is evidence of that

Really mate? lol. I understand this squad isn’t league title winning material but it’s for sure a **** of a lot better than 14th.

If the players genuinely stopped trying, we wouldn’t have beaten city in the FA cup final.

Gotta a feeling Tuchel will be next in the door. Just no idea when. I think he will get till crimbo and will see how close to the CL places we are in and if we are still in the cups.

Tuchel would be such an Ed Woodward appointment that if it happens, I’ll be the first one to apologize to Scouse and admit he was right about INEOS all along.

Well they will still be in one cup seeing as the Premier League Clubs don't enter that until January. As for the others who knows :ROFLMAO:

Its a mediocre mid-table squad to anyone outside the club that over achieved finishing 8th last year.

But then that was classed as ‘doom and gloom’ when it was pointed out the summer that nothing had changed to improve that.

Reality is a humbler.

So in one post, you say players stopped trying, in another post, you say we overachieved last season which indicates players punching above their weight last season (so they actually tried). Which one is it? You can’t have both.

The squad, on paper at least, is better than the squad Solskjaer had

Average squad 🤣

I see your point.

As they show week in, week out, home and abroad, they are far from mid-table average. 🙄

It needs a complete overhaul back-to-front if you even want to think about getting back into the CL. Never mind actually challenging for anything.

I think you’ve been watching utter S for that long now you’ve forgotten what actual top quality looks like.

Jesus, thats the bar? Better than Solksjaer had? Man how standards have fallen. We’re *****. But we aren’t quite as ***** as the previous manager had. So thats progress right? 🙄

So they haven’t stopped playing for every manager at some point since Ferguson? Thats some history rewrite tou have going on there. Its rinse and repeat. Start off with a bounce. Then CBA. Mourinho’s a ****** *****. But he knows footballers. And its more than telling when he says theres players still at the club they wouldn’t let him get rid of that are nowhere near the standard required.

BTW. The two aren’t mutually exclusive. Finishing 8th, with a negative GD, said more about the state around them than Utd themselves. They finished higher than a mid-table side should have. As they are showing once more this season thats the level/ quality they are.

Theres little difference between Utd and Everton if truth be told. Save for Utd have a far bigger capacity to continually waste more money on average signings nobody else has any interest in.

Never said they didn’t mate. I’m just trying to understand where you’re coming from. Haven’t seen much evidence to suggest they stopped trying under Ten Hag tho as we wouldn’t have won certain matches if not for certain players pulling rabbits out of a hat. We finished 8th but underlying numbers suggested we should’ve finished 15th. Individual quality was the reason we didn’t finish lower which covered a ***** system as we’ve covered multiple times on this thread already. I already expressed concerns about how new signings this past summer wouldn’t make a difference with the Kami kazi “high press/low block” system Ten Hag has been madly trying to implement since the start of last season but you never seem to address that.

Mourinho’s a ****** *****. But he knows footballers. And its more than telling when he says theres players still at the club they wouldn’t let him get rid of that are nowhere near the standard required.
Yeah mate, those players are Martial and Luke Shaw, one of which is already out the door.

Oh so you mean Leny Yoro who was scouted by yous and Madrid? Or the L.Martinez that was scouted by Arsenal & Arteta? Or the Serie A player of the year that almost joined AC Milan if not for some agent dispute? Look mate, I get it. We’re in our banter era and I’ll take it on the chin as I’d dished out to you lot over the years but don’t be throwing out inaccurate statements like that.

Yoro. Sorry. The kid you massively over paid for that left you with absolutely no competition. But L’pool and Madrid were interested at a normal fee and salary for a kid with potential its true. You got me. My bad.

But if you are remotely trying to suggest there’s much of anyone else that sides wanting to challenge would take I don’t know where to begin? You could make a case for Dalot and a few of the younger ones. You’ve no goalkeeper of any standard. No LB to mention. Martinez is nowhere near rhe mad hype you lads put on him. Your best CH by far Varane carried him. And he’s no longer there. de Ligt may gain his form back. But he’s been utter S for a few years now. Very telling when Munich let him go and nobody is seriously interested outside of Utd. Yoro possibly you could build a future around. The mess the middle we shouldn’t even bother with. Maino has potential. But no pace. Not sure what his best fit is? Mounts one of the most expensive flops you’ve ever had. Bruno is getting more and more shown up for the petulant little kid he is. Who really isn’t that technically good when there is better quality alongside him. Buy he blams one in every few games from range and your mad on-line fanbase loses there collective S. Ugarte is decent in a specific role. But this isn’t the ‘90’s/ 00’s and that role is becoming less and less. Unless he’s played in a double pivot with a ball player, his lack of ability on the ball gets badly exposed. As witnessed by no other clubs battling you for his signature. And the past it vets still there are just embarrassing. You’d have been better keeping McTominay if this is the answer. Garnacho and Amad have potential. But there’s little else wide. Rashford looks like he’s given up on football. And Anthony is just milking the money. Hjolind I like. But he’s badly let my praise of him down to friends the longer he’s been at Utd. His touch is woeful at times. The Dutch lad is unproven so you’d give him a pass. But its not a promising start.

ten Hag alone has gone through what? £600 odd million. And you’ve a top 8 squad at best to show for it that needs a major overhaul for what Utd should be.

And behave saying I don’t slate the manager mate. I’ve consistently said on here for three years this is the worst coached Utd side I’ve ever seen. How he wasn’t binned after the L’pool game this season was a joke in itself. Thats the most humiliating P take I’ve ever seen either way in that game. We were doing training rondos around you for fun and worse. But honestly, Klopp or Guardiola aren’t challenging for top 4 with both the current squad. Or the the toxicity that continues to run right through the football club from the top on down.

ten Hag is just one of a number of far bigger issues.

*Edit* And Utd have handicapped the next manager with the stupid big contracts for Bruno and Rashford alone. They aren’t going anywhere on that money for the next three years. And Shaw also falls into that as he’s more injured than Naby F Keita. Which is ****** impressive going.

Three players that should no longer be at the club you are stuck with long term.

There’s been a coaching change at u16s level. Nick *** has confirmed that Simon Wiles has joined from Salford, after former u16s coach Martin Drury joined West Brom in August. United have also added Tom Curtis to the academy staff.
