The Manchester United Thread

Diego Lopez pulled off some good saves and Varane looked decent at the back but I think Real were pretty average other than that. We were desperately unlucky

Yeah but he was asking about 2 players before Keane was kicked out.

Remember one was Fletcher (still Keane is hero for Fletcher) and other was either O'Shea or Brown. Don't remember exactly.

it was o'shea

And Jak, let's just stop volleys, controlling the ball in the air, overhead kicks etc. JUST IN CASE someone's there, yeah? :)

Well, bad refering aisde, **** happens. If a team is good enough to win Champions League, they gotta be able to deal with this sort of things. Look at Inter in 2010 or Chelsea last year. Semi-final, playing vs. Barca, twice as long with 10 players, still held to the score, Chelsea even scored 2 goals, and they both went to take the cup.

All in all i have to say scoring one goal in 180 minutes vs. Real that plays without Casillas is not exactly world's most dominating display of football prowess.

Alright Roy Keane, leave it out! ;)

If anything this will spur him on for another CL pop.

Yeah that's what i am thinking too, so either Jose goes elsewhere or stays at Madrid because if he comes back to the PL there will be no chance of him replacing SAF.

I thought United were pretty much in control until the sending off. Didn't think it was a straight red but certainly a yellow. I can see why a ref may have a given a red as feet were off the ground and the foot was quite high which made it dangerous but there certainly was no intent. In real time, I don't find it that scandalous that it was given but it did ruin the game. However, it probably did lead to Ronaldo scoring which won me £40 so I'm not that sad for you guys. If I were the patriotic type, I'd be upset that you've now left us only with Arsenal. How are we gonna cope? :'(

The "word" from his close advisors (this could easily be very spurious rumours) is that he will step down in 2014. If this is true, then perhaps Jose leaves, takes some time out, hangs around Manchester, turns up in 2014.

I'm actually Angelina Jolie , I troll these forums sometimes when Brad is out scouting new targets for adoption.

Seriously though, what did Roy say? I've watched it on polish TV.

Ferguson will leave United in a box, or as close to it as possible.

Something about how Nani deserved it, and it was a clear red, et cetera. Frankly I think everyone getting annoyed at him because he "wasn't supporting his team" is retarded. He's a pundit, not a player. He has no obligation to support United in every single facet of his analysis, and in fact is encouraged to do the opposite. Whilst I disagree with his opinion, I realise it is just that, an opinion, and haven't 'lost all respect' for him.

...mostly 'cause I didn't have that much in the first place, mind.

Oh that was just leaving as manager, he's already said he will become a director afterwards :)

loved rios reaction at the end of the game.stood and clapped in the refs face

but oh boy will this make saf more hungrier to win the CL next season. with a couple signings or one vital one and the further progression of the younger players we'll be back with a bang and more bite

Gutted for last night. We outthought, outplayed madrid till that stupid red.I give it up to the old man. Before the match i was like why the **** rooney is on the bench and giggs playing :D.Really impressed with how we controlled alonso. Now need just 1 good signing in summer for midfield and we have really strong team.Would now want persie dropped for weekend and give rooney and chicarito some game time.

Its neither serious foul play, nor violent conduct.
he's foot is very high and he's studded him in the chest, I don't get how that's not serious foul play :S it's dangerous and he's not in control of the situation

Of course his foot is high is trying to control a ball coming down from about 30 feet in the air. He certain didnt stud him either. He is in fact watching the ball the entire time, with every aim of controlling the ball.

please now i know you is trolling
I'm actually known on these forums and am not a troll whereas I have no clue who the **** you are

Lets stud people in the chest and say its ok because it was unintentional :D

he never once took his eye's off the ball.. not a red card in the slightest! we were dominating until the red! I think I recall Real having one shot on target in the 60 minutes before we got the red!

gutted and seriously ****** off with the ref's decision!

No, Joel is right. By that argument, Lopez should have been sent off for missing the ball and hitting Vidic in the face?
