The Manchester United Thread

Don't even need to respond, this is punishment enough. :D

Banega's good enough to play alongside Carrick. Besides, the latter's hardly a spring chicken, you need to build for the future as well as the present. Di Maria wouldn't look likely to me.

Marchisio? Seems to have a job for life at Juve. He was their biggest goal threat last year, and it helps he can play any role in midfield. Doubt they'd let him go, they've got a good dynamic going on with him, Pogba, Vidal and Pirlo. Amusing to think any one of those four could walk right into United's starting lineup and be nearly (Pogba) or indisputably (the rest) the best.
FU :(
Banega. Maybe he could make into our midfield, which, to be honest, isn't too hard. Fellaini is good player, but he doesn't offer us what we need. My head hurts :(

Bring on the Leon Osman signing!

And what about De Rossi? He would be realistic target, won't he?

heh, probably but Mourinho is a huge admirer and we will probably buy him just to keep him off your hands if we are not buying him already

So all this "I want more game time" was just probably something he done to get more money. He leaves Barcelona to join one of the best teams midfield departments...... well done son.

I think another reason was also that Moyes did not have complete confidence that Thiago could successfully transfer his playing style to the Premiere League whereas Pep had complete faith in him. And I think he would have been better off staying at Barcelona but just grew tired of their arrogance and the way they were so confident he wouldn't leave despite not playing him

I'm pretty confident you're making some kind of a joke :)

This thread gives me deja vu. Haven't we done all this last year?

It's all about strikers, just ask SAF. And you're about to lose the only one who can score :D

I'm pretty sure your ex-manager would know about Andy Weimann and Nicklas Helenius!

Probably. United tend to fail at attracting midfield targets on an annual basis.

I feel that Moyes won't be able to attract top players, part of the attraction of playing for United must of been playing under SAF as he basically guaranteed trophies. There's a bit of uncertainty around Moyes which must put off players to a certain extent.

Thiago will be in the pivot with Bastian, Martinez to CB. Gustavo out. Kroos AMC. Gotze False 9.

If he is happy to destroy the partnership of Bastian and martinez to accommodate a player he is stupid. They were the main reason for Bayern's domination last year.Well my reaslistic expectation from our transfers our.Baines fellani and erikson for the 60 mil kitty.Plus a yound cb.

I'm no massive advocate of Pep, but he is not stupid, and he knows how to structure a midfield. I'd imagine Martinez will still start in big games, to overpower opponents, whereas Thiago will start in games where Bayern are looking to dominate possession.

That was your 'realistic expectation'? I'd love to see your flights of fancy.

One can dream right :D

Working with SAF and almost guaranteed trophies was the main attraction. With that gone, hey - money's good but others can pay more, the whole club culture is about high work ethic, so you need to work your *** off, last but not least if player has a wife or girlfriend , she would propably prefer to shop for shoes in London.

So yeah.

Not sure, but I was hoping he didn't heard about Young. What a signing that was.

Utd are preparing a £35 million bid for Fabregas according to sky sports. Obviously don't want title rivals to strengthen their squads but would be great so see Cesc back in the premier league if utd manage to sign him
