The Manchester United Thread

That is so strange. And I agree, Ferguson would have gone balls deep on this. With Rooney acting like whiney little *****, you could just offload him in January.

aye its very strange and i dont get how some folks say we dont need him we did not need rvp but we still got him

Big diff between 24m and 42m. Arguably we did need RVP as well, I mean Rooney hasn't been banging in the goals like he once did for a few seasons now and United couldn't rely on Hernandez and Welbeck for a season to fill such an important role.

We've got 2 big players who can play the same position Ozil does in Rooney and Kagawa. Not needed for the price, would of loved Khedira though.

when a world class player wants to come get him no matter what how the **** would you know if we could not rely on hernandez hes never had a run of games

There was story going earlier in summer that Özil was offered to several clubs and now Graham Hunter said in Revista La Liga that on deadline day he was waiting for Utd to come in for him. Personally I trust Graham Hunter as much as Tancredi Palmeri.

Yeah I'm not completely convinced it wasn't by Ozil's choice. Guaranteed place in 1st squad is usually pretty important for players in World Cup year.

Doesn't do enough for the team, good player but relying on him for a season would of been foolish. Plus you forget how huge last season was for not only United but also Fergie. City won the year before, we needed revenge and to get our title back. RVP was a signing that was more needed than someone like Ozil in my opinion.

Plus why would you waste 42m when you need to reinforce other areas such as central midfield. Can have the best attacking midfield players in the world, but if you can't supply them it's pretty useless.

Ozil would only have made sense if Rooney left, there's no way Rooney won't be a starter, especially after summer, and Ozil would be wasted on the wings. Kagawa is more versatile and offers an option on the wings as well as covering Rooney/

But but...combined ball control powers of RVP, Kagawa and Ozil would make the sun go supernova.

Its become increasingly clear that RVP and Kagawa were bought in because SAF was ready to get rid of Rooney if it came down to it.

Its also why SAF would have bought Ozil, because he would have sold Rooney.

I wanna know how did in training you get that deep cut :O.Super phil bicycle kick while defending i guess :P.

Phil Jones tea-bagged his head. He could destroy planets just by looking at them.

If Chelsea was the only option then Fergie wouldn't have sold Rooney to them. He didn't even sell Heinze to Liverpool, so forget selling Rooney to Chelsea.

I think this shall put the whole Fellaini panic buy and how good he really is to bed.

Just because he had better stats last season doesn't mean he wasn't a panic buy mate. He was last choice and a deal was done right near the deadline hence panic buy. No-one is suggesting he is poor but he is definitely last choice on the list.

Nope. It's fine as it is. We need Fellaini as we have Rooney, Kagawa to play #10 role.

I personally would have bought Ozil, played him in behind RVP and then use Rooney deeper next to Carrick. But that's just me.

Not the first time he has had a massive gash on his face...........

Rooney doesnt wont to play center mid. If United start playing him there he will just leave in Jan or next summer.

agreed but he would have been proactively looking to send him somewhere.

A lot of european clubs were in the market for strikers this summer, its not like Rooney would be hard to sell, heh.
