The Manchester United Thread

I said others do it, and others will continue to do so but not with the regularity or with the same theatricality of Young. He has done it his whole career. It is rife but if players aren't singled out for it then it is going to get a **** of a lot worse, **** even Moyes has apparently come out and said it is unlikely Young will stop diving because it is part of his game. Don't get me wrong, even though Young is being singled out right now and I support that, I agree that blaming just one player won't help in the long run.
Not sure what theatricality has to do with it. Simulation is simulation whether it's theatrical or not. I've given Welbeck as an example of someone who would probably do the exact same thing in young's position.

I don't think there is any need to single out anyone. If the referee's followed yesterdays example then there might actually be some progress. The problem is that far too many players are doing exactly what young did yesterday and referees are giving them the decisions with minimal backlash from fans/media.

Rooney is slow on the ball. Takes few touches more than he should.

Fellaini bossing. Kagawa and Rooney been great, so much more of a threat with Shinji playing.

It's so good to watch us dominating midfield and have someone who is a beast physically.

Breath of fresh air.

Whole team performing solidly for the first time in a while. Best Smalling and Valencia have looked for a bit now.

Fellaini and Rooney in particular were very good. Also refreshing to see Kagawa playing and Valencia trying to take on a man, we all know he can do it!

Same line-up against Man City wouldn't be a bad shout, maybe if Moyes feel confident Nani for Valencia, but like I said Valencia did have a good performance compared to his older ones.

Oh I forgot to add, Fellaini even though he was great, I don't know whether it's just me but sometimes I think he is a bit loose positionally from time to time (rarely but still... against bigger teams could cost us, I think this could be fixed).

Not criticising though, he done great yesterday.

He is used to playing a more attacking role, Moyes asked him to play very deep, deeper than carrick for majority of the game. I think he did well but he doesn't have the same passing ability as carrick and a few times he was seen smashing the ball through the middle making it a bit hard to control. I think we did well but need to tighten up defensively as a unit, 2 sloppy goals and against a real contender would have been really costly.

Decent performance though LEVERKUSEN didnt show anything (esp fight).

First time in ****** ages that Valencia was actually good.

But our defence showed an alarming tendency to get terrified with every attack and the new philosophy of slower passing game (if indeed it is MOYES' instructions) takes a lot of getting used to after the squift counter attacking style under the previous regime.

All in all a positive step forward but the real test is the next couple of matches.

Lingard scored four for Birmingham today don't know if you have loaned him to Birmingham or of he has gone permenant?

One month loan. Don't know if they have option for extending the loan deal.
