The Manchester United Thread

**** sake that was ****! Seeing Robson and Charltons faces at the end was depressing. Something needs to change, but Moyes will say same old tosh. WE played well was unlucky ref was poor im happy with my players etc. He is ******* **** poor subs again, last 10 mins was just sat hunched in his seat like a clueless golum looking donkey.

Surely a lot of fault lies on the players' shoulders. Cleverly, especially. What a waste of space.

Good managers get the most out of average players, no offence but Liverpool are full of them bar Suarez and BR is getting them playing good football and therefore expressing/enjoying themselves.

I spent about 5 minutes reading this, and thinking if I should be offended or not :p

Give the man some time he only took over this season! don't expect him to carry off exactly how Ferguson did!

Lol.... dude... he's running us in to the ground... quite some difference between being title contenders. Out of F.A Cup... ruined god knows how many worth of 25 years of records Fergie had with United. 7th in Premier League, possibly going out of Capital One Cup. Partly to blame for humiliating us in the summer, got rid of the whole winning coaching staff and brought in a bunch of no-body's. Contradicted himself many times in the media. List goes on and on and on and on.

BOUGHT FELLAINI FOR 27M

If Liverpool's team is all average apart from Suarez I'd hate to think what United's is.

It's easy to just say Moyes isn't motivating the players and blame it all on him, sure he could be doing better but the players play a part too.
Top players should be able to motive themselves and those around them and help push the team forward.

I know United is full of average players... but at least they have won silverware =), but we don't have a manager to get the best out of them. Don't be bitter about that post anyway, it wasn't a dig.

Haha I'm not bitter, looked like a cheeky little dig so I felt like having one back with my reply. <)

True you don't but the players haven't exactly looked like they want to fight for it at times.

If the players need Fergie stripping paint off the dressing room walls to play well, they don't deserve to play for the club.

Personally for me Moyes needs to be given time, this is not his squad and some of the squad is too old or not good enough. The fact Fergie got so much out of them just shows how sensational he was. Its a massive change for everyone involved, Moyes unlike Fergie will be taking the training sessions himself which will be different for most of the players.

I also want to say when Roy Hodgson got the Liverpool job i said at the time "it will never work, when a club legend like Dalglish is sitting above you looking down on you mentally it will not help you, your players and mostly your fans" and i personally think the same issue is happening with Utd and Fergie now.

There needs to be some fear factor - maybe not treating them like schoolboys if they do something wrong but why the **** is he never giving Zaha any chance... it's obviously personal, which isn't acceptable, wingers have been average at very best this season but he still won't give him a go.

Based on?

The players need to stop hiding behind the Fergie factor and step up themselves. Rooney wanted to leave in the summer and has been the only one who has shown any desire to push the team on. Januzaj, Jones and Welbeck as well maybe.

Well based on ruling out every other possibility. Is Young, Nani and Valencia too good to drop? Not at all.

Moyes decision making = awful. Bring Fletcher on with 35 mins to go and then Hernandez with 5 mins. GENIUS.

Has Young been playing? Barely. Has Nani been injured? Yes. Valencia is iffy but has a solid partnership with Rafael, whatever threat we have had in games has come from right wing. Maybe, just maybe, Zaha hasn't impressed in training? Seems more plausible than Moyes' daughter popped down the M25 to Carrington for a quickie with Zaha.

Hernandez should have come on sooner but 35mins isn't the time to put all your strikers on and go even more polo formation than we currently impressively manage. And Cleverley had been shocking.

It's fair to say Fergie didn't leave Moyes with a particularly great squad. Won the league last year, sure, but that was mainly Fergie's quality, and poor opposition last season. I guess I'd have thought before Fergie would leave, he'd spend a lot more effort getting quality youngsters for every position.

Januzaj, Zaha, Jones, Smalling, Welbeck, Powell, Henriquez, De Gea.

- from tonight's match.

Says it all really.

I think this is a total ******* mess to be honest. Rival fans are ******* themselves laughing, but it is rather sad to see the Utd share price tumble, records fall, and the insipid you lot play at the moment isn't much better. No balls through the team, nothing over the top, it's every time to the wing, cross into the box, hope for a flick on/lucky deflection and bash it in. Moyes has to be given time, that makes sense, but the worse he does the more likely it is the Glazers won't be spending any money in January and biding the time until the summer to see what sort of debacle they have to repair.

******* away 200m on a new side in Moyes' image will be a lot more costly in the long term than paying off Moyes (30m) and then recruiting somebody top quality with the gravitas you need. I can see Moyes being very good in the future, but it's curious to see the side play without the "Fergie factor" and find them so reliant on Rooney/RVP.
