he just needed time, and our defence hasnt exactly been stable this season, so he has done exceptionally well. But i agree AJT, he needs to hold more rather than punch, but thats something he will adapt on, they punch a lot more in spain
 
Nothing against United but I'm rooting for Basel with all my heart on this one. Underdogs ftw!

Oh i agree he has alot to learn thats why my only problem was i thought he should have been bought in last season to work under VDS. Its a huge ammount of pressure to be chucked into the first team especially a side like Utd. He will a great GK i have no doubt about that.

We had no chance of getting him last year. They would not do a deal until the summer.

Yeah good point about Spain. Apart from that I think De Gea has pretty much done solid work this season so far after a slightly shakey start, which is to be expected for a Premiership newbie. Fergie gave him the time and there you go. Rest is history. Even now there's some still some harsh criticism for him when some people forget there's other players on the pitch. And like you said, the back 4 has been less than reliable at times, though most of the time not helped by injuries. But Jones-what a beast!
 
If manchester united goes to the europa league, that will kill the competition for this year. unless they keep up the shabby performances. if they shape up, europa league is dead.

How? Other big clubs have fallen by the wayside before.
 
Not too surprised about this atm. United have been playing badly lately, and basel are a decent side. I just think United need to spread the ball out to the wing more. Young has hardly touched the ball on the left wing. And Nani has just come inside most of the time. We also do need Cleverly back. We don't have a creative player in the middle of the park, only Giggs, and despite being played in the middle nowadays, he has got the mindset of a winger still.


Edit: Nani has been staying on the wing now and been doing great. This is what we need to do more. on both wings.
 
Meh....1-0 doesn't deter my prediction......still going with a comfortable Man Utd win in the end. It's Man City who I'd really love to see knocked out. :D

Nani has definately been tearing the defender on that side a new one. And Basel are just not scared after last time. Making it an entertaining match tbh.
 
That was nasty for Vidic. Looks like ligaments? :S
 
Watching the slow mo of Rooney's appeal for a pen, absolute dive, just threw himself over. Agree with Young hardly being in the game and Nani being the only outlet at the moment, possibly Giggs.

Yeah. I started typing it when United were mainly trying to get though the middle. Edited already.
