The Manchester United Thread

Hopefully this will push Fergie into sorting our midfield out,
Europa league will be great to give some youth players Europe experience.

Sure. Throw the kids against Sporting, or Bilbao or Atletico de Madrid and watch what happens.

Yes he was a youngster but someone with Scholesque intelligence, if not equal at least somewhere close and lost lot better presence of mind than any of our CM bar Carrick. His game was simple, pass and move. He was available to receive pass everytime and he played quick passes which helped us to create chances and also to maintain possession. He was good with ball even under pressure, using his dribbling ability to move into space. We really missed him.

He was not a star but someone who made us tick in the games he played.

A team like United should have a star in central midfield though, not settling for someone who can make the rest of the team tick. I like Cleverley, I do, but I have my doubts if he has that star quality, to dominate and control games. Plus, it's far too much pressure to rely on someone in his debut season, the pressure is only going to mount now that our midfield frailties have been exposed in the most glaring fashion, and if he gets injured again, we shouldn't be settling for mediocre performances and 1-0s carried by Vidic.

Yeah, I was just saying he was the best among what we have bar Carrick.

We should sign a proper CM, no 2 ways about it. Again how we passed on opportunity to sign Vidal is beyond me.

Europa league is not going to be anywhere near a priority this season, and with resent injury's using youth will be a realistic option if we want to keep players fit.

Roy Keame
I think (going out) reflects what United have done in truth, they haven't scored enough goals and they haven't beaten Basle or Benfica.
thanks Roy!

will the Glazers Give Fergie Money to Spend in Jan?
He already has the money. Hence how we could of brought Sneijder this summer but he was asking way to much money for wage and Ferguson wanted to give Cleverly a chance.

thanks Roy!

hes right though. We cannot have any complaints. Usually we have looked to smash through the groups. Recently we have got complacent and looked to do just enough. And its come back on us

Did Roy Keane say Giggs was the best player on the pitch? Was he watching the same game as all of us?

"People have talked about the young players - you've had [Phil] Jones, [Chris] Smalling, [Ashley] Young coming in, everybody building them up but they've got a lot to do, it's a reality check for some. I'd be getting hold of some of those lads, saying 'you'd better buck up your ideas'. United got what they deserved tonight." Has a point here. Every one was ranting and raving about how good the future United side looked for the future, it has probably gone to their heads a bit. Fergie needs to get them concentrated, no doubt they are great players
