The Manchester United Thread

2 jammy goals and we are out. We deserved at least a draw but football is about what you make most of it. We didn't. Hard to take this defeat. And stoke would be proud of that route 1 goal.

Edit: Well done Liverpool for getting the result.

Scholes is still THE BOSS.

Was a mistake to keep both Welbeck and Hernandez in game. Welbeck can't track down Kuyt, and Giggs looked tiered. Meh, anyway, congrats to L'pool. Atkinson had good game. Please do not troll.

Never been more proud of United!Good performance given the circumstances and atmosphere!Gutted by result!

Not a De Gea's fault! It was really good set piece. However, we are really dominant and I can't see us losing this one.

I like De Gea.....but that goal was largely due to him......it hit him on the ******* head lol!

Given the number of key players we have missed, we couldn't have done any better.

Vidic, Rio, Jones, Anderson, Cleverley, Fletcher Nani, Young, Rooney all missed the game. Still we were the better team. Shame about the result though.

I'm also proud of the performance, particularly the first half...with a bit more creativity (basically the replacing of Giggs with a younger version IMO) we could have won by a few :) Also, I personally think a loan to another Premiership club could help out De Gea immensely, training with a team like Stoke each day for example = perfect!

Think evra was more to blame for second goal, dont think de gea could have done much about that still my fave for number 1 at OT just needs to get his eyes sorted and build on his physique.

It was De Gea's fault.

And interestingly, it backs up my point about him not being one of the best (top three) keepers in the Prem, like some were arguing in a discussion thread a while ago. He's too raw and makes too many mistakes. Keepers like Brad Friedel have been top-class throughout their career simply by being ridiculously consistent: De Gea needs to sharpen up in this regard.

Both goals were De Gea's fault, and he wasn't helped by the defensive errors. I don't see why Fergie chose to play de gea over lindegaard. lindegaard has played miles better than de gea this season, and still gets left on the bench. And people can say, well he's not played in a month, or that he is still young, but we spent 18 MILLION on him. For that money, we could have bought a keeper who is proven to be good and has experience in the game, not a keeper who has one/two good seasons in Spain and has potential. It's all good having potential but you have to play well in the big games, and to be honest, de gea was shocking. As for the defence, I don't think I have seen them play as bad all season. And I know Ferdinand wasn't up to full fitness, but if he's fit enough to make the bench, he is fit enough to play. Evans should have been on the bench in Rio's place. Never rated Evans. The sooner Man United sell him, the better in my opinion. We may have had injuries in defence but with players like Rafael, Smalling and Evra in defence, they should have played better than they did.

Rant over... Congrats to Liverpool (dirty scousers :()

Spitting on the Hillsborough memorial are we?

I've heard about it, and if it's true, then it's disgusting. Whether you are a fan of Liverpool or not, you should still show respect to all the people who died. Saying that, I wouldn't put it past Liverpool to start chanting about Munich at Old Trafford.

The one Scholes bossed and the one where Liverpool scored winner by Route 1 goal relying on Carroll winning aerial duels.

Because paying 18 million for someone with the potential to be a world beater instead of 18 million for a good keeper with less than 10 years left makes significantly more fiscal sense.
