Rooney MOTM? No.

Evra - Strurridge penalty? No. Blatant dive. Evra reacted late to 'contact'.

Welbeck- Ivanovic penalty? No. Ivanovic slides in, doesn't get either the ball or player, and is lying on the floor. Welbeck decides instead of chasing the ball he'll go out of his way and stick his leading leg to the left, touching Ivanovic, then going down. Cahill-Welbeck incident was exactly the same, and wasn't in the box.

Early on I knew it would be a game decided by Webb's performance and there would be a lot of play acting from United. Torres running into Evans, and Evans goes down as if someone's chopped both his legs off, Torres booked, for example.

rather fitting that we drew 3-3 on the 54th anniversary of the babes last game, which they drew 3-3

Evra's was a penalty, much like Zhirkov's one last time. Cant have it both ways

Welbeck was tripped unintentionally by brana, not a pen, but looked it in real time. he doesnt even look at brana he is chasing the ball

No play acting, so do be so bitter.

He also missed the tug on Young and Cahill should have had a red. Cahill clatters him with the follow through, not in the box but he is the last man

Rooney bossed his play he was the key to Uniteds every attack, forced 7 saves alone from Cech, as well as dominating his his passing

I bolded the bits that were biased.

Evras was a clear pen i'm not even speaking about that.

Welbecks eyes were on the ball when cahill cropped him and should have been sent off

Its funny how you knew from early on that webb would change the game when the only vital decision before 55-60 mins went in your favour.
Also saying our players dive, watch matas freekick that DDG saved look how it was given, clear dive from Luiz

Why do your fans boo someone because his brother was racially abused?

Rooney MOTM? No.

Yes, god yes. The only one close to him today was Mata. Took a look at what Mike said about the Mata goal, sometimes you have to admit that an opposition player has produced moments of pure class.

No that was a fairly clear penalty.

Welbeck- Ivanovic penalty? No. Ivanovic slides in, doesn't get either the ball or player, and is lying on the floor. Agree about the Ivanovic, the Cahill was a freekick and maybe a yellow.

Having now watched highlights, Cahill should have been a red (last man?) but wasn't a penalty. Sturridge was a foul so was a penalty. Ivanovic wasn't a penalty, very harsh. De Gea with couple great saves at the end

Just seen MOTD2 and Cahill got the ball for me. I stick with my earlier post.

Rooney MOTM? No.

Who should be? He was superb whole game even before he scored.

Evra - Strurridge penalty? No. Blatant dive. Evra reacted late to 'contact'.

Your manager disagrees. AVB said first one was obvious penalty.

Welbeck- Ivanovic penalty? No. Ivanovic slides in, doesn't get either the ball or player, and is lying on the floor. Welbeck decides instead of chasing the ball he'll go out of his way and stick his leading leg to the left, touching Ivanovic, then going down
.

It was soft, like Mike explained. Remember last year Zhirkov's penalty at Bridge? He stuck his foot out to make contact wit Smalling and won penalty. Soft one and could be argued both ways.

Cahill-Welbeck incident was exactly the same, and wasn't in the box.

What same. Cahill clearly tripped Welbeck and was last man. Should have been off. Whole game you would have played with 10 men.

Early on I knew it would be a game decided by Webb's performance and there would be a lot of play acting from United. Torres running into Evans, and Evans goes down as if someone's chopped both his legs off, Torres booked, for example.

I'm sure Young also dived when Ivanovic battered Young? Playacting? Are we forgetting Sturridge and Luiz dives?

Edit: **** this, looks like all these were posted by Mike and Mark.

Why when Rooney cuts in from the left hand side, or he's just on the lefthand side of the box does he ALWAYS shoot for the near post? And i mean ALWAYS!

I mean seriously, learn how to bend the ball into the far post because keepers know you're gonna go that way by trying to go through the defenders legs.

He'd score a fair few more goals if he knew how to do it.

Please don't tell me I'm the only one who notices this

EDIT: I'm sure he knows how to do it but never does

I have seen him curling it to the far post, against Bolton in 2008-09 season when he came on from bench. I think that's the only incident I remember. Yeah agree with your point, he should mix his shots.

see i think it's that kind of bad decision making that means Rooney is just inches below being a world class player. He tries the harder option too much.

For instance against Chelsea he had a great chance to shoot inside the box but tried a glory ball square to Welbeck. And although it nearly worked, there was a higher chance of a goal if he'd just had a shot.

EDIT: although i can hardly talk cause i keep making those decisions when I play up front! Except the harder option for me is WAY harder than the harder option for Rooney. But then again my natural position is in goal

One cold and bitter Thursday in Munich, Germany,
Eight great football stalwarts conceded victory,
Eight men will never play again who met destruction there,
The flowers of English football, the flowers of Manchester

Matt Busby’s boys were flying, returning from Belgrade,
This great United family, all masters of their trade,
The pilot of the aircraft, the skipper Captain Thain,
Three times they tried to take off and twice turned back again.

The third time down the runaway disaster followed close,
There was slush upon that runaway and the aircraft never rose,
It ploughed into the marshy ground, it broke, it overturned.
And eight of the team were killed as the blazing wreckage burned.

Roger Byrne and Tommy Taylor who were capped for England’s side.
And Ireland’s Billy Whelan and England’s Geoff Bent died,
Mark Jones and Eddie Colman, and David Pegg also,
They all lost their lives as it ploughed on through the snow.

Big Duncan he went too, with an injury to his brain,
And Ireland’s brave Jack Blanchflower will never play again,
The great Matt Busby lay there, the father of his team
Three long months passed by before he saw his team again.

The trainer, coach and secretary, and a member of the crew,
Also eight sporting journalists who with United flew,
and one of them Big Swifty, who we will ne’er forget,
the finest English ‘keeper that ever graced the net.

Oh, England’s finest football team its record truly great,
its proud successes mocked by a cruel turn of fate.
Eight men will never play again, who met destruction there,
the flowers of English football, the flowers of Manchester

RIP The Babes, champions of heaven since 1958

he does do it. But Cech has an exceptionally good dive. So think he was trying to beat him with power. Having said that, if it wasnt Cech in goal he would have had a couple more goals, Cech was brilliant

Also Rooney is undoubtedly world class.

It was hardly a glory ball. Rooney is easily capable of pulling off such a pass, because he is world class. He would have made it if not for some fine defending Ivanovic.

Think this is quite interesting. We are here after the match discussing decisions while using multiple replays and different camera angles at different speeds. And we still can't all agree on some of the decisions. Just shows how difficult a job referees have. Give them video replays!

Watched the highlights this morning, and De Gea pulled off some really classy saves. And I simply loved Torres cross for the goal too-and as usual, Scholes passing would've put the ball on top of a 50p pence. Thoroughly enjoyed the match-won't go into the pen decisions though as it's already been covered. Either way-loved it.

Great man Clough said this few decades back and I have posted that Video in Nottingham forest thread. Awesome interview that was.

Bobby Charlton was a guest of Roberto Mancini at the Etihad Stadium last weekend. In the hospitality lounge after the game, Mancini asked Sir Bobby,
"How do you think the current City team would fare against the Utd team of 1968?''

Charlton replies ''I think it'd be a close run thing,maybe a draw''

Mancini walks away feeling very pleased with himself, when Charlton shouts across the room,

''Mind you, we haven't trained in 30 years''

Is this a joke or happened really?
