The Manchester United Thread

Exactly, Cleverley should improve defensively. Carrick is the only CM in our ranks with very good positioning sense and no wonder with him back we are not conceding more shots on target. Early season when we missed him we used to concede around 20 shots on target per game, now it has reduced drastically.

Defensively he was always solid, but this season he is more confident on the ball. One of the reason why ManUtd fans are not scapegoating him anymore.

The start that he got was so impressive that people are forgetting he has played hardly 10 games for UTD! Give him his chance and he'll improve! He looks like a player with great temperament and SAF believes in him they I don't care what anybody says!

Neither I nor Sunil are having a go at Clevs, we're just pointing out what will hopefully be the next stage in a good development so far.

What GC said, no one is having a go or even criticizing him. Just pointing out where he needs to be improved. Positional sense is very very important for a CM.

FYI I'm a big fan of Cleverely. ;)

I know Sunil is a big fan of Cleverley! I was just carried away with the "supposed punditry" of europa league game last night here! Sorry guys if I have spoken out of terms!

I was just watching United Season Reviews from 92-93.93-94 and 94-95! I must say one thing if it hadn't been for injuries LEE SHARPE would have been a United Legend!

If it wasn't for a combination of injuries and Ryan Giggs, more like.

Might've been those and his insistence for the party life I guess.
Lee used to live in Singapore for a bit and I took part in a game show with him and Les Ferdinand. He was a nice guy, and I didn't really want to bring up his old career and what it could've been, so I didn't ask.

Diouf and Zieler both started for Hannover. Zieler is their first choice GK anyways. I think this is the first start for Diouf. He scored Hannover's second goal. He almost scored first one too, just missed by whisker and Haggui scored it. He has been very lively till now.

Zieler has been very good this season and rightly got national team debut. I think had he stayed he would have easily competed with De Gea for #1 spot. He is very good keeper.

Its just been confirmed that Manchester United striker Danny Welbecks grandad was a bomb disposal expert in 2nd world war. Stan Welbeck
;)

On This Day: 1958. Duncan Edwards died in Munich. 15 days after the plane crash. 175 apps / 21 goals for #mufc. 1/10/36 - 21/2/58
