Is it true that Berbatov will be leaving this summer?
Erm - He'll go where all ex-united players go....
Real Madrid. lol
I was just a little ****** off when I wrote that to be honest! I was still hurting, dont get me wrong, SAF is incredible and I love him dearly!
What I meant was that we need to modernise how we play, yes, our tactics work well in the EPL but in Europe this year, it was pathetic, we need to learn how to defend against teams like Barca/Athletic if we want to win the ECL again, we even need to learn how to play like that in order to beat teams like that!
We need something new there, not a new coach (even though I would love SAF to take the England job and allow Jose to join in the summer) but we need to learn how to play like the other European teams otherwise we are going to be left behind... look at the Ecl final a couple of years ago, Barca tore us apart, we should have learnt how to play/defend like that to avoid the similar fate in the future, which of course we did not do!
As I said, I was just a little ****** off about SAF leaving, of course I dont want that! Never have, never will, he just needs to shake things up there a bit is all...

Ask Mike said, Barcelona tears everyone apart week in, week out. A new manager wouldn't be able to stop that from happening. Aside from this year, where we have had some big injuries to our side, we have been one of the best teams in Europe. 3 Finals in 4 years is a pretty good record even if we did only win once. But 2 finals against Barcelona is only going to go one way really.
Our best performances came from that asymmetric 4-2-3-1. Given where Welbeck has been playing on the left, when Hernandez and Rooney have been playing. I wonder if SAF is looking to a return of that. Would make sense of his scouting of Hazard.
I worry though if we do buy Hazard. Where would Nani, Valencia and Young would fit it?
It doesnt bother Valencia or Nani cos they play the right largely. Young would fight out for either the AML or AMC spot, maybe it would force him to be more consistent
Personally I see him as a defensive mid - I mean he shows flashes of flair and good distribution - But as for a force going forward I'm not convinced. He has a great engine and runs for days. I see him as a similar mold to Carrick, they both have that grit and determination to win the ball. It's hard to say really he is still so young - I mean Look at the Top class mids in the world - Scholes, Lampard and Giggs - They've all undergone game changing styles the best players adapt to play a role that is needed by the team - I'm hoping Pogba becomes that guy for us in 2 years.
