The Manchester United Thread

Haha, that's just absolute rubbish! Of course, small injuries may have played their part (the table only shows injuries longer than a week, if I'm correct), but the facts are there in black and white. Manchester City have a massive squad, anyway, bigger and better than any other team's (in my opinion) and have hardly had any injuries this season!

Squad depth!? They have one of the biggest squads in the Premier League, and probably one of the best as well! They have 4 quality strikers, and their midfield and defence is packed with talent. The only place where they may not have enough quality in depth is goalkeeper, but Joe Hart hasn't missed many games (if any) this season - or at least I haven't not seen him not play!

Anyway, well done on basically secured a title, as usual, you were lucky as ****. Sincerely, a bitter Liverpool fan who hates the fact that Manchester United have more titles than us!

- PZW

I think their defence is weak, their strikers aren't as good as ours and they don't have as much talent on the wings as us.....just my opinion, but i'd say it's pretty well justified, in my book their only top quality defender is Kompany...

You'll be tough, but you wont have a chance. I fancy 1-0 win.

Yep, I would love Bains and Fellaini ( as backup plan if we miss Martinez) at United. Would you be able to reject all bids for your player depends lot on DM. If he stays, most of your players will too.

I think we'd be able to reject the bids as long as we don't have any managerial changes for next season-which I suspect there will be. There's a very tight bond between the players and DM. All depends who's in charge though.

Any team that has Gareth Barry as one of their main will always struggle to win a title

Dzeko, Tevez, Aguero, Balotelli .. Hernandez, Berba, Rooney, Welbeck ... great options with both tbh.. personally i think city edge it but only slightly

and they play a more central game and try and use the creativity they have from nasri, Silva instead of having wingers ETC

Overall i think they have a better squad BUT United have been there and done it, and they play like a team, Man City at the moment are full of individuals and when the going got tough they bottled it

Fair play to United but i cant see City making the same mistakes next season, espeically if they spend big again!

PS: Whoever does get J.Martinez ( if he leaves ) will get a massive boost.. great player

Only thing that suprises me this season is how often Fergie has gone with Welbeck over Hernandez, Little P had a great last season, but I know Welbeck's movement causes defences a ton of problems. Think I would like to see more of Hernandez though, but I guess Welbeck does give the team more... so... hmm.

If we got Javi Martinez and preferably Eriksen, we would be good to go, we 100% need strengthening in the central midfield for next season, give Scholes another year to help the new players coming in the summer through the next season.

Eventually we will also need a replacement for Evra, probably in a few seasons, can't see Fabio or Fryers cutting it, Rafael is good on the right side but then again I would choose Smalling over Rafael.

<3 Smalling.

To be honest you just made me think we probably need a striker as well for when Berbie leaves in the summer (Owen will probably go as well).

you could probably get away with a young striker with good potential. Rooney, Hernandez and Welbeck is enough for first team

Man city made the biggest blunder of over using silva till dec.Johnson should have played more games than he has and i think he was doing well in minimum games he was being used in.Should have played a 4-4-2 with milner and johnson at wings and toure and barry in midfield but mancini kept playing silva and than in jan when toure left he could not take any rest which finished his season off and now he has fatigue and an injured ankle.

Exactly what I said XD

Yeah just realised :$

Haven't been awake long enough yet-been a heavy weekend-not quite with it yet lol

But re:the score I'd happily take a 1-1. Which I think it will be tbh

Agree with everything you said (although i still think we edge them on depth of squad atm) :) my man United team on FM.....only signings I have made in two seasons = martinez, hazard, bender....if united could get one/two of the three (i realise hazard is the least likely) then we'll be in a strong position :)

Biggest myth. City have good first 11 but not squad. We are bit weaker than them when it comes to first 11 but when it comes to squad we are much better. One of the reason why we are in this position even when we had so many injury problems.

Tbh, I would be happy too with that score.

And somebody said that City has stronger squad ?! lolo

Even if Berba leaves which I think he will! We would still have Rooney,Welbeck,Hernandez and then Will Keane for backup plus Macheda if he keeps his head! and please don't write him off because he is only 20!

Does anybody think we can get Martinez? If we do get him I would go insane with glee!

Btw our U19 and U17 teams played in 2 finals today! Lost both! U17 were very unlucky so were U19! But People saying Mats Daelhi was as technically gifted as anybody in the tournament! Consider this tournament included Barca, Bayern,Ajax etc!

Nobody said he was not good enough, or the minority anyway

But it was desperation because nobody could step into his shoes, he was brought back because fergie had tried all his CM options and couldnt find a scholes type player

Dont blame him one bit tho, top player.. results prove that

Scholes was the one who asked to come back in the team so it's not really a case of Ferguson deciding our midfielders weren't up to it and asking Scholes to come back. I really don't see how it was desperate in any way Scholes has shown how fantastic he is since he's been back. Do you really think that if any team had a player of his quality offer to sign for half the season on a free they would turn it down?

Finding it impossible to replace one of the best players ever is considered desperation? Ridiculous. Fergie knew that Scholes was available, Scholes wanted to play, he came in and has played exceptionally. No desperation involved. It might be desperate if, say, United were in fourth and plunging down the table, but their season was going well.
