You would still want Vidic to mark the one of the biggest aerial threats in the world... He didn't and Fellaini made him pay

Vidic was horribly ring rusty. Carrick was the better defender today.

Fully deserved win for Everton and if it wasn't for De Gea the scoreline could have been embarrasing. One thing i will say is that we know sometimes not all the time start slowly and still go on to win the league. But i don't think they can do that this season with City around, if they do then City will have the title wrapped up by April.

Really? Cause he's given away 2 fouls and made a grand total of zero successful tackles and interceptions. No shots blocked, either, and only half his clearances have been effective. He's being outshone by Carrick as a pure defender, at the mo.
I know mate, I was just saying it was nice seeing him back in the team again, I enjoy watching him as he shows no uncertainty

Better check out what the team does in carrington or CBs do. 4 CBs out in the first week and we have to play our best CM as CB.

Scholes and Rooney managed to play 90 mins, sums up today's performance.

Not if we have anything to say about it ;)

Losing to a strong, determined Everton side away from home. amg title race over.

Exactly. Not the end of the world by any means. Vidic was always going to be a bit rusty, and come on-the defence has been ravaged by injuries. Utd were undone by a mammoth team effort

Even more funny is we should lose games to make SAF understand we need a CM.. sigh..

Our team was messed up with injuries and people started with annual crisis thing.

Kagawa looked quite impressive tonight. Got him in my fantasy team so really want him to have a good season ;)

City could have dropped points easily against promoted team at home too. I didn't find any top teams impressive in the week 1.

With Evans back, team will be lot better and balanced as Carrick will be pushed to CM.

Kagawa was just awesome, we have got a gem, it's about time players play to his strengths. Nani and Kagawa combined really well in preseason so was looking for it, but Nani had stinker, started with worst possible way. Can't wait for midseason where games come thick and fast.

**** me for forgetting this, can't wait for the new lad to arrive and give some push for Evra. **** defensively and his crossing was so predictable and ****. Going at this rate I don't see any difference between him and Brady, at least Brady is **** good attacker.

Let's not get too negative too soon. We had 4 centre backs out injured, which resulted in our central defence being made up of a defender who hasn't played competitive football in what, 10 months, and a central midfielder, and we also had a right midfielder at right back. We are playing a new 4-2-3-1 system, with the attacking 4 interchanging often. As any of you football manager players know, a new tactic takes a while to become fluid. We were playing a very determined and well disciplined team, who had an incredible crowd behind them. Wait until our defenders come back from injury, and the team gets used to the new tactics, and you'll see Man Utd in full force once again.

Same old problems with pressing for United. Always seem to get stifled when teams press us. Our lack of a good, physical midfielder was also apparent today. Fellaini is so difficult to handle because of his positioning between the midfield and attack. If one of the centre-backs push up, it'll leave space in behind. I think United should have switched Vidic to the right side seeing as that was where Fellaini was mainly operating.

No shame in losing to Everton and we'll get better of course as the season goes by. Defenders will get fit. Nani and Rooney will certainly put in better performances than they did today. Kagawa looked good and De Gea was excellent. But the signs are there that the midfield problems are going to be a serious issue this season.
