The Manchester United Thread

I haven't even seen his youtube videos, but he can't be worse than Evra even if he tries?

Hopefully he is just not a back up.

Still think we will try to bring in one more player as I doubt this was the player SAF was talking about on Friday.

Yeah we kept the ball well, it was because of Rooney we couldn't do much in the final third. Kagawa was so quick to make decisions, Rooney was no where sharp enough to react or play the ball back.

We were outdone bu Fellaini's brilliance as target man, not as CM. They bypassed our midfield with long ball to Fellaini who did awesomely to keep it and create chances.

Good to see us trying new tactics than the same old 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1. Nani had a bad day which made it even worse. I'm excited to watch our new fluid system against Fulham but only problem is we will have to play Carrick as CB again.

Still too early for Evans?

I'm a little concerned about the new rules about pitch size. Old Trafford has always been a wide pitch to allow for our favoured wing play and to stretch teams, but the new ruling means that all pitches have been converted to the same size. Does anyone know how much the Old Trafford pitch has changed and will it affect our home form this season?

Teenage striker Angelo Henriquez has been granted a work permit which will allow him to complete his move to Manchester United.

Yeah, SAF said Evans will be back in 2 weeks. Will be good time to test Wootton IMO.

OT pitch was up to standards isn't it? I think there is minimum and maximum dimensions, or have they changed to exact dimensions?

Heard he is a converted LB. Who isn't though, Coentrao, Marcelo, Evra all are converted LBs.

Hey guys, just wrote an article on your 4-2-1-3 you played against Everton, thought you might be interested in taking a look? It's got good feedback so far but since you're United fans, you might be able to give a better judgement? Any feedback is welcome, you can follow me on twitter as well if you liked the post.

Football Tactics From A Terrier!: Are Manchester United Making a Move Back to Their Previous System?

Thanks,

Hopefully this is true as this was when uniteds opponents really feared playing them

Excellent article. The big difference of course is that we always had one "terrier" centre mid, be it Hargreaves or Fletcher. Given Fletchers condition, the closest is arguably Anderson, which presents an issue in games against highly combative midfields, see last seasons losses. From what i've seen of Herrera (though admittedly that's little) he would help rectify this.

He'll be our sixth signing if he joins and to think that a few weeks ago zzeezzy was complaining about the lack of signings!

Apparently Ferguson has said he will not be buying any more players this window after he clinched the Henriques deal... Can anyone confirm this?

We've made an official approach to Pachua for Herrera, so that's gone out the window. Also we went after Buttner after we started going after Henriquez.

There's an agreement for him to join in December and that the injury he suffered at the Olympics delayed the move according to a Mexican journalist.
