The Manchester United Thread

How many clear cut chances did Nani create in this game? Think Hernandez missed 2, RVP 1 and Kagawa 1. Still there must be few more still there are many ManUtd fans who wants him to be sold just because he is frustrating to watch :palm: (Not in this forum though)

His link up play with Kagawa was great to watch, should do that more often.

Kagawa and Nani were our best attacking players by far. Valencia's crossing was disappointing. :/

Both teams unlucky not to score more, but we were a little lucky to get 3 points.

Yeah both teams should have got 2-3 penalties. Anyways we would have missed them all and they would have scored :P

Even when Nani has okish game he creates lot of chances. Should have converted few at least. Apart from penalty miss he was very good.

Btw why the **** do players take weird run up when taking penalty, they miss more often than not when they take **** stop and run runup.

Penalties are not our friend this season apparently. Though seriously, why on earth didn't Nani just put his foot through it, instead of messing about with it? You'd think he know he needs to impress, his position in the team is under threat, and he needs to impress, no nonsense, no bullshit. I was literally screaming at him when he was getting ready to take it "Just blast it home, don't mess about with any fancy stuff!"

Apart from that, a decent game. Both team could've had a couple of penalties. Felt some of our 1 touch passing was impressive, our defence for the most part was solid, De Gea made a good case for himself after being dropped for 2 games. But we need to be a lot more cynical in front of goal.

Nani:

5 key passes
4 dribbles
80% pass accuracy

But yeah, let's sell him, does nothing for us.

Apart from missed pen and few unnecessary dwells on the ball, Nani was good. His link up play with Evra and Kagawa is awesome. Shame we didn't put more goals in, so much created chances. Yet again, I do not understand how could Mr. Stark be professional ref.

We were good defensively last night.Just the midfield wasn't able to keep the ball.A bad game for Scholes after a while. If Nani keeps his cool Cleverley,Kagawa and Nani are going to cause havoc. Kagawa was good last night.I can't imagine how well he's going to play once he sets in the team.

Terrible performance thus far, never had proper hold of possession and were simply hoofing balls forward in hope than anything else. Carrick + Giggs + Kagawa combo in the midfield will never work, too lightweight and Giggs is not a proper centre midfielder.

Hopefully we will do something in the second half. The first half was unbearable to watch.

I suspect Fergies unleashed his epically sized hairdryer for HT lol

We were absolutely awful today, worst I have seen a United team play in quite some time, I have to ask why did Fergie rest Vidic for this game if he knew he could not play 3 games in a row, surely you should of left him out last week and played him for this big game.

Our midfield is no where near strong enough, today proved it and because of this we lacked any supply really to Kagawa and RVP. Yes we got the win but I am very worried about our midfield and I do not think it is good enough at all.

Apparently Vidic felt some tightness in his knee midweek so they rested him, so it wasn't a predetermined thing.
The whole team was pretty poor not just the midfield, in fairness.

Wasnt really the midfield issue today, we were just poor all over the pitch.

Well of course Kagawa and RVP are poor if our midfield has no control at all on the pitch, the defence was not great either, the amount we stood off for the goal was silly. For a team who is trying to win back the Premier League and progress far in the Champions League and you are relying on Giggs playing in CM for such a key game you know you are in trouble. When will Fergie realise this.

but the issue today wasnt just about the midfield, we were so slack even when we had the ball, so many errors. It was just tactical, everyone to a man, just didnt turn up.

Missed the game so can't really comment. Think the occasion got to the players?

To be honest, from an unbiased opinion, Liverpool took the game by the throat from kickoff, and cut through midfield like a knife through warm butter-it was just mouthopening. But for all Liverpool created-well, only one goal sums up the finishing. But Gerrards goal was excellent imo. They played so well in parts I forgot they were playing with 10 men. Was it because Man Utd were so poor? Not sure, but I think one of the reasons Utd were so bad was because liverpool simply never gave Utd a chance to settle-they were absolutely oozing energy until well into the 2nd half. Rodgers had his tactics bang on today has to be said.

2 points dropped by Liverpool without doubt

The highlights on MOTD2 didn't show all that much, but I had a pretty good picture of what would happen to us once Giggs was announced in CM. Sounds like it was reality. :P Do wonder why Cleverley didn't start, can only think Fergie wanted experience and didn't want Clevz to do a Jonjo.

yeah had a feeling it wouldn't do much justice. Watched the whole thing and knew it was a great match because it was half time before I knew it. And Evans and Shelvey were very, very stupid to be fair. That's all I'm saying on that matter-or it'll just explode again.

But yet another extremely enjoyable match this season.

Very poor performance but it was better than last few season's performance at Anfield. Not sure why SAF always starts Giggs at Anfield, it was like playing with only one CM.

Rafael and Rio were just brilliant, Rafael dragged the whole team when we were down, he is becoming fantastic player. Rio defended against Suarez superbly. He won 6 tackles which was surprising as he always have more interceptions. It was great to watch him giving more than 100% and was limping whole game.

It was bad to see Agger in tears, never had any luck with Injuries but it's funny how few Liverpool fans acted tough when Nani was in tears after Carragher tried to snap his leg into 2 pieces. Made so much fun of him, mocked him now their player was in tears.

Can't wait to watch Rooney back in action, he involves in build up play so much I think it's clear that we are missing it. Hopefully Vidic will be back for next game.

Also, midweek game should be great as SAF said he might play few youngsters.
