The Manchester United Thread

Well, Howard Webb is going to be ref for the game. So you make valid point. Rooney being member of mafia is the only way Webb could get this game.

Must be. It's not like Howard Webb is the best referee we have and thus trusted to officiate the big games and thus many of United's or anything preposterous like that.

Holymonkey balls, bullshit conspiracy theories.

If United are fixing the Champions Leauge though links with mafia, i'm rather unimpressed with mafia's dark influence. I mean, come on, barely two wins in last 25 years, one with 2 miracle goals in last minute and the other one because John Terry slipped? This mafia would struggle to extort candybar from a baby.

Meanwhile i guess Milan must have links with aliens, and possibly Jesus, considering they have 5 cups and were runner-up 3 times.

No, that CL win? All engineered by the mafia, down to Terry's slip. They knew which way the Chelsea penalty takers would shoot, hence why Van Der Sar knew how to fake out Anelka. Terry's slip was due to a banana peel dropped from a helicopter right before he stepped up to take it. It was all designed for maximum hilarity.

Also Milan don't have links with Jesus, but they did have Maldini, so that's pretty close.

.

Seems legit. I always knew it in my heart mighty Jay-T wouldn't just fall over on his own.

Apply cold water to burnt area

I would if it was burnt. The reply actually supports me more. Each team United got from the pot is clearly one of the most, if not the most weakest team. And I didn't say it was a conspiracy. I was just replying to someone who said United always have it tough in draws. You brought that word up yourselves, boys.

Where did anyone say we always have it tough in draws? Did you go back and look at all the groups by the way? Since they will show that United don't always get easy groups. Those links I posted continue way back, and you'll see that we generally get our fair share of tough games.

We make a note because whenever we do get an easy draw, everyone always goes on about how we get easy draws. Like you are right now. It's irony. And the reply doesn't support you at all. We had a 30% chance of drawing an easy group, not terrible odds at all.

Hey man, i don't want to explain someone else's words, but you propably took it far too serious that it actually was. When people say things like that its a statement on the level of "it always rains when i have free weekend" rather than "global conspiracy tries to knock us out of CL". :P

I can't remember what the post said, but it was something about being drawn against PL teams. And they also said they wouldn't be surprised if it was another PL team in the next round.

Sunil, because the general theory is that we always get easy draws, he was making a remark to the fact that its not always the case, doesnt mean we always get tough draws, but its cetainly not true that we always get easy draws. Its also because we play the winner of Fulham - Blackpool, so barring an upset ( and if we get through ourselves) we will be playing another Prem team

"20 out of last 26 matches in FA cup are PL opponents for ManUtd, I'm sure we will draw PL team once again. (Assuming we will beat WHU)"

That's the original quote that started all this off, but if you ask me, He is just saying he won't bu surprised to be drawn against a prem team. Let's face it, that is not a person saying "we will get a EPL team just becuase we are United" but statisitcally, there is a 3/13 chance of drawing a team not in the prem if my math is correct. I don't think his comment should have sparked you off about United have easy draws...

Exactly, RTW posted about how we always get easy draws when more often than not we drew against PL teams in FA cup.

It was the way they said "it wouldn't surprise me.." Nothing has sparked me off, it just irritates me when someone claims that they've had hard draws over the year when if you actually look into it they've have more easier than hard.

20 out of 26, its a pretty valid point to say it wouldnt surprise me. The vasy majority have been prem draws. They've been harder than easier. Dont let the last two years in Europe fool you. I've already shown in the last 5 years alone our draws have been harder than easier, and they get harder the further back you go.

Sigh. I was talking about FA cup and 20 PL teams out of 26 is hard draw whichever way you look at. It just irritates every ManUtd fan when others (mostly LFC fans) talk out of their **** about how easy draws we get and some bs conspiracy, completely ignoring our FA cup draws.

Compare the draws with Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea had and tell how it was easier.

When did anyone say we have hard draws? The way he said "it wouldn't surprise me" wasn't really said in the way you think it was meant, but the chances are heavily against getting any other team that is one of the 6 non-prem teams in the draw.
