The Manchester United Thread

Haha, "trophy earned not bought" banner.

Well if you don't count RVP, De Gea, Rooney, Rio, Evra, Kagawa,Carrick,Jones,Nani,Valencia, and I could go on for another hour.

It means buying players from our own club earned money not from billionaire's purse.

Captain Vida..

this nearly made me cry! Just shows how determined and committed he is to the club and the cause! even thought the league was won, he still has the drive as if he is playing his final game ever! LOVE IT!

hear that Moyes wants one of his first signings to be Phil Jagielka???

I mean come now, its not April 1st!

he is a good player no doubt, however, he is not United quality and we already have enough CB's!

tbh agree with raikan regarding jagielka.

also been a rumour about fabregas coming? personally cant see it

Anderson ***** on Fabregas

hahhhaa :) Old Anderson at Porto Anderson ***** on a lot of players, Fabregas is quality though! not a player I would want at United, for the £18-£32m we would probably have to pay for him, there is better out there for less

Fabaregas is a world class midfielder and I would take him in a heart beat for 30 Million. He takes us level or 2 higher easily and at Arsenal he was one of the best midfielder in the world.

And it's probably the area you need to strengthen the most.. Makes sense for Raikan not to want him.

Yeah, even if had some good players I don't think there are many better CMs than Fabregas. Absolute class player and he will walk into any team in the world except Barca as they play him as striker.

Carrick Jones, Nani, Rio, De Gea, Rooney were all bought as youngsters or bought in from the younger squads at United. We have the likes of Rafael, Evans, Fletcher, Cleverly, Welbeck playing week in week out 85% percent of out squad were bought when they were young no matter the transfer from Jones for 17million too Welbeck for free all youngsters who have the potential to keep the squad strong for the next decade, whereas when we were to look at City or Chelsea(even though Chelsea are getting better at transfers now) they buy players already established and well known for excessive transfer fee's. They spent over 200 million in two seasons at one point and now only a small handful of those playerss are still at the club. Manchini just now got sacked for not playing enough of their players from the youth teams. That is how a title was bought.

Fabregas would be a good signing no doubt, but it completely depends on how much!

Alot more than 30m I'd say as 50% of the fee would go to us along with amount that Barca owe from his transfer ( somewhere around 5-10m ).

So technically by selling him for 30m Barca would get only 5-10m.

I'm wondering, what player available for 32m would be better than Fabregas in your opinion. I can't think of any.

You can argue as much as you want, you can't win anything without money.

Why will Barca give 50% of the transfer fee, if anything it will be some % of the profit they will be selling him?

Because we have clause(s) on him. Among them 50% of next transfer fee UNLESS he's sold back to us. He has release clause almost 200m, but for us it's somewhere around 30m.

We sold him for "peanuts" back then if you compare what we could've gotten in competive market. But it didn't mean we were robbed as we managed to squeeze those clauses on the contract mainly I think because Barca believed in him becoming even better player for them than he was for us.

Those clauses were released after the deal and were pretty widely reported.
