Very believable story. Moyes should just say as it is that Rooney refused to travel and we have fined him something along that lines tbh. This is getting tiresome now, signing players and this Rooney saga.

Except Rooney's best position isn't as a main striker, and I doubt Jose would play him there. He'd compete for the attacking midfield spot, where Chelsea are stacked.
If that's the case then Rooney wanting to leave to go there would be absolutely stupid.
Wayne isn't exactly known for his Einstein-tier intelligence, let's be honest.
Rooney wants to be the main striker, dropping deep. Everyone else wants him as an attacking mid, creating and striking late.
Apart from the general footballing public, who probably want him to bulk up or something.

Actually I'm not sure. I think he kind of would. Torres is not the type of striker Jose likes, nor is Rooney, but Rooney is the closest to what Jose likes.
Anyway, he also said that he, Jose, would help Torres to regain his deadly form. So, we'll see what will happen.
I just think Chelsea will add another player before the window closes. Whether it will be on the deadline day in the last second or next week, I don't know.
I might be wrong though. I still want a world-class striker. Actually, scratch that. I just want a striker in its purest sense.
I'm not sure Jose HAS a preferred type of striker. At every club he's succeeded in, from Benni McCarthy to Didier Drogba and Eidur Gudjohnsen to Diego Milito to Karim Benzema and Gonzalo Higuain, it's been a wide spectrum of styles. McCarthy, Higuain and Milito were pure poachers, Drogba was multitalented but primarily a tall, strong beast of a striker, Benzema and Gudjohnsen dropped deep. It's interesting. What do you think his preferred striker type is?
Probably don't want Rooney then.
