The Manchester United Thread

See... this is the thing like you mentioned. I really want to try and like Moyes, but then he makes a stupid decision in a game or in a press conference... or whatever situation it may be.

Basically what I'm trying to say is he's doing the simple things wrong at the moment. WE'RE IN FOR FABREGAS.... YES WE ARE... OHHHH YES WE ARE. (Egg on face).
which simple things?

Why are people suddenly going on about Chicha? The only time he has ever been a starter was for the last half of his first season.

I just named one.. announcing interest in a target you never was going to get. (Even if you could get you don't go out public until you're 90% or more sure, if you have to do it in public).

Yesterday, 2 of the most stupid subs I've ever seen.... Giggs on for Welbeck and then Smalling on for Rooney. It goes on and on man, it's the small and almost glaringly obvious things he's doing wrong. Not saying his tactics or anything else is good either, but still.

Oh and why doesn't he start playing Kagawa before we lose him? At least he might give us that moment of magic he can offer.... Nani is just poor as 90% of the time.

When things are going badly... why stick with the same options which keep failing? Try different options... it certainly worked bad with Januzaj at Sunderland didn't it?

Yup, of all the issues, Moyes not dropping RVP for Chicha has to be his biggest **** up thus far. Moyes out.

Nani has done what wrong exactly since he's come back this season, exactly? Actually taking players on and putting good crosses in? I miss Young.

Ferguson never made a transfer mistake? Ferguson never made bad subs? Tactially we are not that different from last year btw, soo..... Yes why wouldn't he play Kawaga over Nani ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE?

It's not about Chicha starting games or not. It's about using him as an impact sub. Tell me how many goals had Chicha scored against Chelsea already. Moyes doesn't even bother to play him during that game. When we need a goal, play Chicha. He doesn't have to start, but we all know how good he is off the bench. Had Moyes utilized that advantage before?

Let's be honest here, you are actively looking for (small) things to hold over him, rather than being anywhere near objective on this.

Yes they are small but they are mounting to a very big problem all together. Forgetting the panic buy of Fellaini as well (which it was, whether we needed him or not was irrelevant when we paid way too much for him).

Also the staff he fired and.... then hired. How is this small?

Wait, they haven't become big things, you've just made that up. Lol, been 8 games for Fellaini, Evra and Vidic were ***** for half a season. Wonder where they are now... oh. And are you seriously criticising him for bringing him his own team? Get out.

H
e doesn't want to do anything till he is settled club wise. And his father is pretty ****** at Albania putting pressure on. United have never looked like keeping a clean sheet, so going defensive is a bad call.
If we haven't looked like keeping a clean sheet, then whats wrong with making it more defensive so that we have less chance of conceding?

I'm sorry, we had this problems during SAF as well. We all knew we deal poorly with high pressing sides who are aggressive and play one touch football. We just don't have players to deal with that kind of style. Starting from our strikers and midfielders, only few could actually counter it. Difference is - there's no longer SAF. He was a huge factor for both our players and opponent. Only thing I think Moyes should done better is our transfer window. And now, with pretty much the same squad as Alex had, we have to play against stronger teams than Alex played last season, season before that... Moyes needs time, he doesn't need 'lets sack him because he didn't start like we wanted'. If you love the club, then support your manager and hope, believe he can and he will bring success to the club.
I'm just going to make it clear, before I say what I'm going to say, that I'm completely impartial to all of this and have no preference of either Fergie or Moyes. I also disagree with people who believe United are in a genuine crisis, because it isn't as bad as a lot of people think. They're 8th, which isn't too far away from 4th - I still personally believe they will finish 2nd/3rd.

I have to disagree with you with using "we have to play against stronger teams" as an excuse. Yes, the start of this season seems very open and with a lot of teams improving, the competition is getting stronger. However, I wouldn't say that's a valid excuse for justifying why United are where they are - the improvement of other teams does not warrant a 7-places-drop!

Why are people suddenly going on about Chicha? The only time he has ever been a starter was for the last half of his first season.
I've always rated Chicharito, and I thought he should've been played more in previous seasons as well as during this season - but I agree, people can't use it as a reason to criticise Moyes when they didn't use it against Fergie.

Because we actually look more shaky when we do that, we don't actually resist pressure when we go defensive. We've done better when we have put the pressure on the opposition. We are more likely to win games 2 or 3-1 than 1-0

I get your logic Ronan, and normally I'd agree, but that route isnt working for us right now

I've discussed it with Mike already and he disagrees, but I see this as our best line up:
De Gea
Rafael, Vidic, Evans, Evra
Carrick, Fellaini
Nani, Kagawa, Januzaj
RVP

I think that having Kagawa in there will improve Fellaini as well, as with Rooney and RVP upfront he is forced into making more difficult passes that he isn't capable of.

Januzaj/Nani ahead of Rooney? Seriously!? Even Kagawa shouldn't be ahead of Rooney, even though he's a very good player.

Fellaini has been struggling defensively and has been letting games pass him by. Helping his passing options solves nothing, it's not his job.

I don't think he fits in with the players we now have around him. I also think that Januzaj/Nani are both better wingers than Rooney.

Nani can be very inconsistent, although he does have a lot of raw ability. Januzaj has so much potential, but I don't think a good pre-season/start to season warrants a place in the team ahead of seasoned veterans like Rooney - or even the likes of Valencia, for that matter.
