Cleverly was usless lost count the amount of time he had yards infront of him to exploit but he just passed sideways and backwards, also very poor for there 2nd goal Sandro had him in his pocket. Kagawa was playing well when was linking up with Rooney till Moyes chucked him out on the left then he dissapeard.

Kagawa disappeared whole game except for few moments. I agree Cleverley was poor but still he was better than Kagawa. Kagawa's best moments were when he dropped deeper and dribbled sideways to pass the ball to the nearest player. He created nothing and creating chances was his primary role considering he played #10 role and that's the position Rooney plays where he creates and scores lot of goals. It's not some sin to say Kagawa was poor and didn't perform upto the standards.

United fans sometimes do seem to overrate Kagawa, but if you watched him in the first half, he had some great interchanges, as I said, with Rooney and co. before he was moved to the left.

He barely played on left wing. He played almost 70 mins behind striker (except few mins swapping with Welbeck) and once Hernandez came on he was pushed to left wing.

Were you watching the same game as me? Kagawa was moved to the left late in the first half, and throughout most of the second half (although admittedly, the positions were quite fluid).

Yep. You can check the heat map to see where Kagawa spent most of the time too. Welbeck and Kagawa swapped positions few times. As soon as we were 2-1 down Kagawa even had block shot from inside the box playing centrally and also he was on the right wing to help Valencia and ended up shielding the ball near the corner flag (that shows he was not on left wing, he played most game as a #10 or a free role).

Even his touches, you can see him dropping deep and playing in the midfield

According to Stats Zone, he's hardly made any passes from central positions - and more of his play is based in deeper positions or on the left. He does make some passes on the right; but the passes on the left are clearly more concentrated.

After watching the reserves tonight can defo see why Zaha is not redy for 1st team yet, had a good game but lost the ball far to often with his tricks and step overs really needs to learn when to do that and when to retain poss with a simple pass. Really impressed with Janko and Varela on right hand side and think Rothwell and Pearson will learn alot partnering Fletcher in CM. And god that James Wilson likes banging in the goals scored a great freekick tonight to make it 13 goals in 14 starts:)

Am I right in thinking that Fletcher's not appeared at all for United this season? It's such a shame with him and Hargreaves, they were such talented players before their respective injuries.

No mate not played yet for 1st team this sesaon, dont think he will tbh think there just seeing how he copes with illness in reserves before throwing him in to prem action. Still looks good on ball i mean his 1st touch and control is still there and also seems to have good energy even tho it is reserve football. Still looks bit thin tho but nowhere near as bad but maybe that will never change with his condition. I also liked Hargreaves not as pundit tho:P

Januzaj nominated for young sports personality of the year. Think that's a strange one tbh considering he has only made a few appearances this season.

Januzaj has played 6 games for United. It's totally unwarranted.

That said, Theo Walcott won it in 2006 without having made a single Prem appearance...

Excellent prospect, but on what basis to win the award?

Manchester United team to face Everton:

De Gea, Rafael, Smalling, Vidic, Evra, Valencia, Fellaini, Giggs, Welbeck, Kagawa, Rooney.

Nice team, although I'd say Phil Jones warrants a place instead of Fellaini - the latter's been far from brilliant for United in the games he's played!

He is suspended for this game.

Also if Fellaini never gets chance then he will never settle in ManUtd team.

Think Jones is out. I'd expect Fellaini to be up for it against his old side.

Jones picked yellow against Spurs and can't play now. I think he would've started otherwise.

Oh, OK, my bad. That's not how it works though - if someone is not playing well, clubs don't play them even more, even if they're new signings. Take Lamela for example, he's not playing because he's just not on-form at the moment.

Lamela is starting tonight...
