What solid points? You really think missing out on the top 4 in a single season would spell the end of Manchester United? People saying we'd cease to attract the biggest talents is just conjecture with no evidence to support it in the real world. On the other hand, there are a plethora of recent examples of players moving to oil rich clubs who currently have no continental football, even in no name leagues. Why? Firstly, money. Secondly, they're not so short sighted to see that just because their squad lacks at the current moment, with the ambition and willingness to spend money it's a matter of time before they reach that. United have the ability to spend, not daftly, but they can certainly spend, and they have the history and reputation of being one of the biggest clubs in the world, who still have world class players and many with potential.
