So glad to see rafael back, he has some fantastic link up player with whoever he plays with.

What a game, it was only against QPR but their midfield was good. Sandro, Fer and we played well enough. Blind was so calm and offers so much. He is like younger Carrick but with balls to tackle.

Herrera was class, his energy, pressing, quick passing was great. He created space for others. Should have scored 2 but RVP ****** up his chance.

Blind was class, he was very good tactically. Not tested much but Im impressed with how he played.

Rojo was very good. I was hoping he would switch to CB and Shaw coming on, but as a LB he was very good.

Di Maria: Not sure when was the last time we had #7 who scored and created goals. He scored, assist to Mata, beauty pass to RVP, wonderful run and pass to Rooney which resulted in Herrera's goal.

Also not sure why anyone even question Rafael's talent or call him liability. If he stays fit then he will be among top RBs in the league. When he plays we look so much different attacking from right wing.

It was a good performance from a team playing for first time together and the formation for the first time. We should kick on and improve from here.

What a player Di Maria is, he is amazing attacking player but unlike others he is very good defensively. Always incredibly hard for the team. His pass yesterday was a beauty.

The exerpts from the Rio Ferdinand autobiography are shedding a lot of embarassing light on Davey's "reign" last year, with mentions of not having a coherent tactical vision, of banning healthy low- fat chips event for no apparent reason, of asking players to hoof it diagonally up field, of asking them to have 600(!) passes one game then cross it to death the next, of negatively setting us up always not to lose.

Im sorry if this sounds like an "I told you so" moment (IT IS!) but had he been given time and patience (like many of you advocated) the only thing that would have been achieved is our total destruction and stripping off all our core values ensuring we d stay away from the CL for far too long.

Also all our new players (especially the stars) have cited working with LVG as being among the chief reasons they joined notwithstanding no CL. Does anybody think really that if Davey were still there any of them would have joined/be saying the same thing?!

Also has anybody noticed the stampede of teams knocking on Davey's door since we sacked him wanting to employ him?!

After reading few articles posted from Rio I'm even more happy that we sacked Moyes. Telling Rio that he is not part of the team in front of everyone saying he needed fast players, asking players to play long diagonal passes, asking players to complete 600 passes.. So embarrassing. At least with Van Gaal the proper football basics won't be missed.

Mata's stats since Jan, excluding yesterday's game.

Oh well. I have said it for ages. Mata has always been the best No.10 in the league for me. Good to finally see him getting the recognition he deserves. People oddly always seem to have a hard on for Silva but fail to recognize that Mata is better
