The Manchester United Thread

When I said 3-4 years I was actually being generous, we'll be lucky if we get 2-3 out of him at his best from next season, if the deal is permanent. Just look at RVP, 31 and a shadow of the player already. Falcao may be at that age as well, considering his previous injuries.

I still think it's a lot of money for Falcao at 29.

Also regarding your point about Wilson, pretty sure you would of said the exact same when we signed RVP regarding Welbeck. That didn't work out very well did it?

It's only going to work like that if Wilson wanted to be second-fiddle for another 2-3 years.

That's alright. We'll take Wilson off your hands in three years.

my god you're boring with your moans. Why would we only get 2-3 more years. He's had one major injury which he recovered from faster than expected. Falcao and RVP are not even remotely comparable injury wise. Wilson would end up being Falcao direct successor at 23, and the main man at this point, or at the very least 2nd choice. And no I wouldn't have said the same thing because if you hadn't noticed I said last year if welbeck didn't get more central game time he would go. Wilson is going to be 2nd fiddle anywhere decent for a few years as he is incredibly young and still learning.

How am I moaning? I'm just displaying a concern (with justification I might add) for our current situation and team.

Is it not a mixture of short-sightedness by Fergie and quite frankly, average, signings that has got us into this position in the first place?

I'm not saying Falcao isn't quality, he quite clearly is, but paying that much for a 29 year old is still worrying. It's a lot of money, RVP was Fergie's buy to get him a title... it worked... but realistically it was a 1 season £24m signing.

I think you are most likely the only United fan moaning about our attack and Falcao, it and he is the only thing firing on all cylininders right now, if you going to be annoyed look at our defense and them not "clicking"

Falcao is the only signing above 27....

Di Maria 26
Herrera 24
Rojo 24
Blind 24
Shaw 18

And Falcao isnt nearly 29, he's 28. so he has 4 or so years. Enough time for Wilson to come to the fore. Thats not short term planning at all. Also RVP was bought because Rooney was going to be sold, we had tried for Lewandowski before

And name me a better and younger striker than Falcao that we could buy instead

[h=1]Van Gaal offers Valdes a chance to recover[/h]
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has offered the 32-year-old former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes a chance to complete his rehabilitation from a knee injury and to work his way back to fitness with the club.

Valdes, a free agent, will have his recovery supervised by the United medical staff before training with the first team, as he bids to regain full fitness.

I think it's just like Beckham training with Arsenal and nothing more but would be a fantastic pick up as a free agent.

Lindegaard might be off in January, so Valdes might be our 2nd choice until summer and then can go and look for new club.

The crying shame with you mate is that you can and often do make very valid points - but under the avalanche of your usual and consistent negativity/moaning etc (whatever you want to call it) they tend to get lost ...

Boss: "I'm sorry to say no others are back. Even if I let Carrick play for the reserves (tonight). He's been injured for five months." #mufc

Van Gaal: "Chelsea are one of the top teams. Jose has worked for over a year with them and hasn't won anything, but you have to build up."

More from the boss on Chelsea: "They are playing like a team and we have to as well. We did against West Brom but made individual errors."
