Anyone see the rumours we have/are going to offer 77m for Pogba. And Strootman is gonna hand in a transfer request to join us in Jan.

Well, if Strootman is coming to us, highly unlikely we'll move for Pogba. And as stated, he wouldn't want to come back to us (atleast, we won't be his first two choices considering Madrid/City/Chelsea will probably also want him).

If Strootman actually joins us, that's a tremendous piece of business, as I'd thought that it'd only be possible in Summer. We can possibly try a 4-3-3, with Carrick pivot and Strootman B2B. If we can get a solid defender in also, that'd be unbelievable. I'm still rooting for Hummels, but I guess he'd a safer bet (both transfer and ijury wise) in the summer.
 
I'm not so sure whether its good business going for BVB players , given that pretty much all of them fail as **** the moment they move out of Dortmund. With the exception (so far) of Lewandowski, but he was always on another level.

Yeah think we could have a good chance at getting Strootman, as it sounds like he wants to leave and Roma are out of CL. Yeah should defo wait if we want Hummels till summer see how he gets over his injuries, maybe go for Schar or pay Laporte or Giminez release clauses at Atletico Madrid. I think Pogba would come back, its completely different situation now to when he left. If he went to Madrid he would not be a starter imo and same goes for Chelsea plus not sure Madrid can afford him as there under investigation, would have to sell a big name 1st like Di Maria. And City are still under a FFP limit on there spend so they cant afford him atm. I cant see it myself but defo not impossible, plus we could offer him huge financial package. Will settle for a CB and FB this window.

Yeah none of them have hit Dortmund levels as of yet. Think they have made wrong choices tbh as the likes of Lewa/Gotze are not guaranteed starters.
 
Rumours are that we're trying for Pepe. I'm not too enthusiastic about him, good defender no doubt, but we already have our fair share of rash defender. Plus, will probably demand outrageous wages for his age. Anyhow, if he signs an extension at Real, then we should probably go guns blazing for Varane to see if we can get him.

God please hope we not in for him. He can be great on his day but often a sending off or brainfart round the corner. Also like you said his age and wages are a problem also. Varane would be a dream but once he starts regular for Madrid he wont be going anywhere. Was reading somewhere a few weeks back he has a clause of 102m euros to release his contract.

Laporte will be expensive, and if we do get him, doubt we'll still be in for Hummels, unless we're offloading more than one defender. Schar is probably more reasonable due to his contract situation, plus we can probably sell him for a profit if we find other guaranteed starters. Gimenez, dunno, never seen him play, how good is he? And what is his RC?

I'm kind of hoping that Varane tries to force a move away from Madrid, especially if Pepe signs a contract extension. Can hope, although slightly far-fetched. Still, he'll be an excellent signing too.

Think Laporte clause is 38m euros which I don't think is bad and he has been better than Hummels this season and has higher ceiling. Jiminez is younger but pure quality for his age ala Varane Barca had bid rejected as they would not pay he clause which is about the same and now they have pulled out as they have transfer ban. Would be happy with Schar has improved a lot since having good WC.

I wasn't that enthused in Enzo Perez anyhow, I'm not too troubled. Also, rumours are that Falcao deal will be made permanent. I'm not sure whether to be happy or worried - Falcao is class, but his problems with injuries and age lead me to slightly question if it wouldn't be more prudent to go for Cavani instead.

Na not for me. I don't rate Cavani tbh and would cost a lot more than Falcao anyway. Falcao is defo getting there and showing no signs of more knee trouble. Plus 30m what is being reported would be a steal for a world class STR like him, who could give us 5 yrs good service.
 
Yeah not fussed about Perez either. Would of been good signing very much similar player to Fletcher in his prime but better on the ball imo.

I don't think Coleman is worth that sort of money imo. But is a good player even though his form this season has dipped. Don't think Everton would turn that down tbh, but would take some haggling to get the deal done as he has just signed new contract. Would be big statement and signing for us in a January window.
