Wolfsburg slowly building a team to challenge bayern now they have some cash in the bank. Schurlle will only add to this.

Tbh de bruyne has played great as a CM many times this season

Seems the type and two footed, can't hurt having versatile players especially if we eventually get into a fluid, high tempo attacking system.

But De Bruyne like Pogba is just me hoping. Then again no certainty De bruyne would shine.

I hopped on the klopp/bvb bandwagon sort of but wolfsburg and schalke are two german sides i've liked for a while (probably because of FM aha)

Shame about Dortmund can see them losing Hummels and Reus in the summer maybe Gundogan as well. And with the cash buying some up and coming Germans no one has heard of and getting back to where they were in a couple years again.

They will both be ours in the Summer ;-)

That's pretty **** debatable tbh.

And yes i'm solely basing this on the fact kev has done it against arguably the number two side in the world and mata goes missing against any half decent it seems. Pretty much the transfer muppet in me speaking also.

I find it really hard to believe that he went from tearing everyone apart with us to being **** with you. Whenever I've seen him in a United shirt, everyone seems to be 3 steps behind him.

His stats are all nice and he looks fantastic against newcastle or hull at home but you find him putting in magical performances against liverpool, chelsea, city, arsenal or southampton.

He did for us, consistently too. Your formation choices haven't exactly suited him though, which may be part of it. Don't see why KdB would be any different in that regard though.

I still find it strange why we don't deploy him left or tbh, i said earlier it might not ideal but he came through as a winger and in a 4231 he should perform to a decent standard against anyone, maybe his defensive workrate is poor in that system.

he does get pushed off the ball far too easily also imo and isn't that quick which could be another reason we're reluctant to deploy wide in formations.

I miss the simple days of 4411 and 442 with the likes of beckham, giggs, keane, cole, yorke etc etc aha, football just seemed simple back then.

Mata was the best #10 in England and one of the best players in the world at Chelsea.

49 - Juan Mata scored or assisted 49 goals in 64 appearances for Chelsea in 2012-13. Fulcrum.

He has magic, you just have to find the way to invoke it.

Hint: playing him on the wing is not it.

Has always played through the middle this season to my knowledge but probably far too deep at times, moyes might have dabbled with him out wide though.

Didn't help last season we went week to week playing different 11 and it seemed a different formation, same could be said this season, to much chopping and changing going on.

Like I said mate, he looks to be a step or two ahead of everyone else. Always raises his head to look for movement and sees Fellaini lol. Would be enough to depress anyone.

He's actually quite decent on the wing, but if you're going to do that then you need to play 4-3-3 with a good leftback and a midfielder who's willing to do some of his defensive work.

Has been the other way round imo, mainly wilson or falcao would look to make runs and make them but on too many occasions nobody puts it over the top. Now obviously mata isn't at fault because nobody is passing it forward as much as they should.

I don't know if this is about lack of movement upfront. I'd say its about lack of directness in United's midfield. Blind, always looking for a pass, Carrick always looking for a pass, Herrera always looking for a pass. Nobody just takes the ball and runs with it, and wings are quite useless too.

In Chelsea Mata had Hazard, constantly shaking up defenses, forcing the other team to either break formation or drop deep.

Players like Mata thrive on space. When I watch United, whoever plays as #10 just never has that available. Whereas in Chelsea he was often allowed to basically run the games.

Same with fellaini (badly passes it sideways etc) rooney either long diagonal hollywood balls to valencia or poor short passing. no urgency or tempo in midfield compounded with poor footballers in defence and nobody except blind coming deep to take it from them.
