The Manchester United Thread

Notice how Wenger's got in his excuses about why he hasn't barely spent or done anything again in this transfer window? With his comments about Martial.

Please pass that on to your imaginary "french" friends.

Is this like RAWK version of imaginary "MANC MATE"?

Seriiusly?

You don't like something so now you dismiss it as 'imaginary?' Beats the normal abusive rhetoric I 'spose.

And not that I'm a member of either, but I hear you'll be better on the ROATL than RAWK. But I wouldn't suggest either from what I understand.

Now I have mental image of is chest hair in my head, and it won't go away.

**** you.

The lovely memories of a chest full of hair hair after scoring a beauty against Arsenall in the 2000 FA Cup semi final....

Can't trust anyone online and their imaginary french, German friends.

Arsenal's €60m bid for striker Gonzalo Higuain dismissed by Napoli

Napoli in fact did reject a huge offer of 43.3 million pounds. The Telegraph reported that Arsenal just made an enquiry which was likely rejected and weren't prepared to bid well over 50 million because of his age. Real were never going to sell Benzema and at most, I've seen Metro 'reports' on Zaza, so I'm not sure on the the validity of the rumour. Remember that Juve pulled a plug on him going to West Ham a few days ago because they wanted to keep him.

But not from Arsenal. Arsene was interested when price was around 30mil, but as soon as Real upped the price he dropped interest (partly also because of Suarez). If Wenger is reluctant to pay 50mil for Cavani who's superior to Higuain in every way there's no way he'd make Higuain our biggest transfer and also our highest earner over Özil and Sanchez. From what I've heard the interest in Higuain came actually from PSG, but dropped interest when Di Maria became available. It's no news that they tried to sell Ibra to Milan this summer and were looking at Higuain as replacement.

There was also interest in Zaza from Spurs, but noone was prepared to pay Juve 30mil euros for him. Juve have many better forwards ahead of him and wouldn't be surprised to see him offloaded in january.

Some of Anthony Martial's ball control and skills in this to go past a player is sublime. Also he seems to be very strong on the ball and shrugs off defenders like they aren't there.. Very important for PL that he seems to have that body strength.

Excited about watching this lad in a United shirt, hope he can show us what he has got.

LVG has basically put his faith in Martial for this season over Januzaj, bold move in itself. But from what I heard Januzaj's attitude has been poor and according to the Monaco fans, Martial is a level-headed family orientated guy. Yes he already has a child and wife at age of 19, which is probably a good thing in our case, as he is settled in his life.

Oh and apparently one of the reasons DDG is seriously thinking about renewing with us is because of the treatment they have given to Keylor Navas.

Unless wife ends up hating Manchester and wants a move to more sunny place, like Barcelona.

That's a problem for every footballer with a girlfriend/wife.

Our new transfer policy: Sign players who are single and castrated.

Feel sympathetic for Navas. Was primed and ready to board a flight to Manchester, only for Real Madrid to stall. He pressed the club to do all it could, but it still fell through.

Still stand by the notion that he is one of Europe's best shot-stoppers, and would have been a more than capable replacement for De Gea. Had it not all been cocked up.

Meanwhile, Martial has the most photogenic smile/pose/face I've seen.

I just hope we haven't put an over-reliance on Depay and Martial for this season now with all the departures we've let happen.

I actually think there is more chance he will sign now, than before.

He's had his eyed opened on Madrid in the worst way possible

What the **** is Valdes doing here anyway? Sitting in the stands for a payday or have they actually made up now?

We've had far more hits than misses, and a lot of supporters have called for more young players to make first-team pushes. That in part solves the depth issues, whilst the new young signings continue at a brief pace.

But there is also enough experience in the team to not have an over-reliance. That only comes when we have a repeat of early last season, the spate of injuries.

I just find it very strange how Wilson and Pereira haven't even featured at all but now they are suddenly going to be a part of the squad.

When in conferences LVG has talked up Januzaj about giving him chances etc. and has featured in the starting line up of 3/5 games we've played so far this year then suddenly gets loaned out. Chicharito has come on off the bench a few times as well. If LVG seemingly wanted to utilise Pereira and Wilson, why not involve them sooner?

So issues haven't been resolved obviously...

Am I the only one surprised not to see pereira in the champions league squad? Seeing a rather average lingard

Wait, Pereira is not in the CL squad?? Well that kills the theory LVG is counting on him this season even as a squad option.
