Whisper it quietly, but Smalling is playing a lot like the 50m Otamendi this year.

Shaw is a very good left back, however players like Baines and Azpilicueta are definitely better. Darmian is a solid right back, however other options such as Zabaleta, Ivanovic, Debuchy, Clyne and Coleman have already established themselves in that category of the league's top full backs. Everton easily have the best full back pairing in the league with Baines and Coleman. They are both very strong in defence in attack. Darmian isn't the greatest going forward.

LOL. Ok.

For 5 games arguably. That's as pointless as me saying that Naismith is the best goalscorer in the league because he scored a hat trick. Ivanovic isn't in better form than Darmian, however he is a better player. You said that United have the best full backs in the league. Most in form would be more accurate.

You should watch football outside the league, if you are talking better players, then Darmian has been a better full back than Ivanovic for a year. You're making an argument for him that no Chelsea fan would, which is weird

I've always been a fan of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones from 1.5 years ago. Smalling can become a top defender if he can improve his distribution. The only issue is a partner in defence. Blind reads the game well, however he is too small and slow to play there.

Misclicked and liked your post at first.

U mad?

At this point I don't even think damola3 is clueless poster, he is just a troll. Or at least that's the way I think reading all his posts.

I was very sceptical of Blind as a CB, especially against bigger strikers who I thought would bully him like Benteke, but he handled him with ease today.

He is easily explained, he's an arsenal fan! Enough said really.

I don't know loads about Darmian, however I know that he's a defensive minded full back who was one of the best in Serie A last year, however I don't think he's the best right back in the league. He definitely is in terms of form.

He might not be, but to list the likes of debuchy and ivanovic above is just mental.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....

Didn't Darmian mug baines off at the world cup?

Yes, yes he did. It was through scouting him for the Italy game that Neville passed info to the United scouts to watch him over the season.

I was naming already established prem players at full back. A player like Debuchy is very difficult to compare since they are very different players. Ivanovic offers leadership and a physical presence which Darmian doesn't have. He also has mental strength and resilience that a lot of players don't have. He hasn't hit the best spell of form at Chelsea, however he's been rock solid for years and won pretty much everything. Darmian's 2 good years for Torino can't match to those achievements. Taking the step up to United is a chance to show what he's capable of on the big stage.

But you are here speaking as MANU fanboy.

Telling that U have the best full backs in the league is a bit too much. There are several better options and we have to see how the season goes on. If I remember right last season not many people liked Shaw, now after 5 games he is one of the best...

And looking after the games we have right now, i would say Kolarov tops Shaw by his game right now. On both ends of the pitch.

But still making these comments so early in the season is not that smart. We will see what comes and who gets their game going.

Fanboy? Coming from someone who supports arsenal and leeds, jesus christ give your head a wobble lad.

Shaw was always rated highly and there aren't many who didn't like him. Only issues was his injury problems and that's what was repeated all season.

Oh and I'm not saying he is trolling just because he disagrees with me, I'm talking about his other posts.

And no Kolarov doesn't top Shaw. Shaw is brilliant and beast defensively.

Also I'm not predicting for the future, I'm talking about 5 games and how well full backs have played.

We are getting into smaller, more meaningless debates now. My point is that it's a bit stupid to make conclusions
based on 5 games. I don't think many people would be saying Shaw or Darmian are the best in the league a few months ago.

Deal with it.

Deal with it.
Naismith League goals 2015-6 = 3
Messi League goals 2015-6 = 1
Therefore Naismith>Messi

See how stupid the argument is becoming. Lets just ignore the fact that Ivanovic has won premier leagues, champions leagues, fa cups and league cups for the best part of 7 years, while being an integral part of a defence that's set some of the best defensive records in premier league history because Darmian has had 2 decent seasons at a lower level and 5 good games at United.
