The Manchester United Thread

Lingard barely played and is now in the England senior squad. Laughable call up, there are many players who had better season and are playing regularly for their clubs. If anything Zaha deserves chance than Lingard IMO.

Been that way with successive England managers since as long as anyone can remember. The favouritism toward players at the traditional big 5 (Arsenal, Everton, Liverpool, Utd and Tottenham), now with Chelsea and City switched in, has reeked and gotten worse the longer it's gone on. Then you had Ericsson who took it to another level by handed out caps like they were going out of fashion to one and done's. Little honour in an England cap the majority of the time these days.

Talking Internationals, I don't understand why Januzaj jibbed Scifo and the Belgium U21 call-up. The words from Wilmots spoke volumes as to how that didn't go down well at all. Such a sense of entitlement with players today that get a taste of big club first team action and a few International call-ups early, and they think that's what they deserve.

Silly boy at only 20.

Hey I'm a United fan new to the blogging world. Check out my thought athttp://letstalkfootballmanagement.comI'd love some input!!

He's a doubt for the watford game. The season is clearly over.

I can see us doing another 0-0 vs watford in truthWatford are defensively sound and they don't let in easy goals. We struggle against those kind of teams. Martial was directly involved in both goals against west brom so i'm a bit worried

No Martial, no Rooney and no fully fit Wilson for Saturday.
Guess we will have to play 'butter feet' Memphis up front. :S

Could be a blessing in disguise really. No Rooney. No "plan B" Fellaini. Martial is a miss but we should now have Herrera in behind a striker (probably Memphis) with Mata and one of Young/Lingard on the left. Personally I'd start Young on the left and leave Lingard as an impact sub for either Herrera/Mata, especially Mata if he's being crowded out on the right.

Also with Carrick out we should see Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger in the middle which could be very important today. I fancy Schweinsteiger for a goal. He's been pushing forward a lot more in recent weeks and he has more license to roam knowing Schneiderlin has the legs to cover.

I dont get why he's dropped Rojo to play Blind. Rojo has been quite good the last few games. Blind seems to be the back-up CB of choice so why would you play all your fit 3 CB's? Baffles me sometimes LVG. Good to see a few youngsters on the bench though.

Jones at RB.
Poor Mike will have to do two jobs today.

Kind of alluded to above, but what's with Darmian missing again along with Rojo?

Van Gaal does make some Rodgers-esq head scratchers.
