The Manchester United Thread

Ive been moaning for months about LVG playing two holding midfielders, especially at home, but we have just seen both sides of that there. We dont play with two holders and we get forward a lot more and create chances and score goals. But if we dont play with two holders our defence goes to **** and we concede stupid goals. There is no middle ground so what the **** do we do?

Saying that though, if Memphis clears that ball we win 3-2. What the **** was he doing trying to be clever and shield the ball?

Well technically he wasn't getting wins, we have like 1 in our last 8 PL games or somet crazy like that.
 
Noticing Vidic is a free agent now, I'd take him in a heartbeat back here until end of season, bit of leadership and presence back in the squad. Better rotational option than what we currently have.

Yeah, that's straight after he changed his approach to more attacking after the boos started at OT.
 
Really should of won that game though, Newcastle actually looked good tonight but they've been awful this season and are ****** in relegation zone of PL.

Utd benefit from a real soft penalty. To be kind. And Van Gaal choses to complain about Smalling's rugby tackle complaining it was 50/50.

This will decide our top 4 hopes, can't see it ending well personally. We're in deep trouble. Especially if Spurs win tomorrow. Current sit 6th in PL table and if Spurs win tomorrow 5 pts off 4th place.

And it ain't the first **** up by Memphis that lead to goal, if I'm not mistaken.

edit: that ****** header to de Gea.

So yeah, someone needs to grab Memphis and explain to him that you don't try fancy **** if you're not a nominal defender. Just ******* boot it. Leave clever defending to people who actually do it for a living.

We had two nailed on pens turned down last week. No one brings that up.

No he's not, not in the slightest. He hasn't played all season, he's having surgery again. He's all but done.

If he's having surgery that's a shame, would of had him back, just shows state we're in.

It doesn't show what a state we're in tbh, and you'd be 100% wrong to want him back. He's been injured or awful at Inter
 
United play like that minus Fellaini will put us in a decent place. He needs to go.

Sadly it's not that simple, well the getting rid of Fellaini part is (although he'd need replacing). But I'm talking about the 'if we play this we'll be ok attitude' because lets face it, it's one way or the other right now. We either play good going forward and our leaky defence is exposed or we play like statues in an attacking sense, creating next to nothing, whilst conceding next to nothing.

We're better at the latter though, much better. It's our natural game, and if we had done this from the start, we'd be a lot more comfortable than we are now with it
 
What a game...it's a shame that lingard and fellaini horrible missed sitters otherwise we would've seen that game out comfortably

Mike smalling turned back to Chris smalling...I hope it's just one game.

Its a shame about Fellaini, because he was crucial in that 4th place chase last year. This year he just can't seem to bag it in. I'd like him to stay, because I still think he offers a lot, something that other teams don't usually have in their repertoire. But he needs to stop paying off the trust LVG put in him, and fast.
 
First time in months enjoyed United game, shame in the same game Smalling and Schneiderlin had an off day. Should have won the game. Lingard and Fellaini should have scored those 2 very easy chances. No excuse for missing them. Liked Depay when he came on, committed players and created excellent chance. His play was very important for 3rd goal too.


Van Gaal ****** it up with Fellaini. Everyone knew he would have got second yellow card for any foul so he didn't even challenge for any ball but Van Gaal was ok with it. Awful decision.


Also with Lingard we are better team. His movement is excellent so he gets into many goal scoring positions. Rooney had his best game in probably 2 years.

You really wouldn't want him back, he's been horrendous really. Injuries a lot and when fit he was ****.

If it was United Vidic you could get back then **** yes, but this Vidic is finished
