It wasn't even about that. Once the midfield was struggling, he didnt change it. The most important place is midfield, it takes the pressure off your CBs and maintains supply. His refusal to go 4-3-3 when were are being overrun is infuriating.
I dont think it was that bad. We shot ourselves in the foot because LVG insists on forcing square pegs in round holes while lfc were not that great.
Our problems will not all be solved by sacking this manager (although he is 50% of the problem), fact is our disgrace of our board didn't act when they should of gone at christmas to try and salvage this season. This is the second time they've cost us a season by not acting quick enough, absolute joke how they didn't replace Moyes and LVG soon enough to save a season.
That dreadful run of form around Christmas/January we went on would of seen any top flight manager out of a job virtually, shows our standards now.

Yeh.... this is why I have my doubts whether Mourinho is the man to revitalise us. Proven winner yes. But his recent failing and traditions doesn't seem a great fit, not to mention the style of play.
I think more than anything right now United need a manager to come in and rebuild a style/identity like Pochettino done at Spurs.

Jesus, Liverpool were simply better team here. Sometimes you just have to give it to your opponents. They were chasing every ball, pressing hard and generally just working a lot harder to press United and took the game to United's defense.
Lets hope VG can prepare the boys better for next time.

Jose is objectively better than Pochettino. What the players need is a change in mentality more than anything. There are 5 managers I would trust to do that right now. And 4 of them have jobs.
No you wouldn't. There's a reason why VG hasn't lost dressing room yet. He isn't the person to take the United forward, but he did far from a bad manager. He placed some fundamentals in the club just like he did in his previous clubs. He did good on that part, but failed on getting the CL ( so far).
