Rashford went from nobody to England call-up in 3 months. If that's not a great management of young players, I don't know what is.

Lingard he offers something the team didn't have - direct running and pace. And he's better at doing that than Pereira, that's why he starts.

Pereira is talented, but he offers nothing over Mata, that's why he's rotting on bench.

This isn't rocket science, do try to keep up.

Agree. But you will usually get a very good turn out nonetheless. My mate who's a season ticket holder for 27 yrs says he's never seen an atmosphere like it on the way down. No singing, chanting nothing hardly and inside. Says he's seen a few signs and banners also and heard booing already.

He hasn't even been in matchday squad since February, excluding tonight.. it is just bad management, he isn't even rotting on bench he is just in U21's out performing everyone and not getting any look in still.

Because Mata and co. has offered so much this season! Our attack (or lack of)has been woeful, shown by the amount of goals we have scored, everyone has their own part to play in that and why would you not use one of your best young attacking players more than two starts?

People really overrate Mata for no apparent reason, he'll have time to recover his form in Euros though... oh wait Del Bosque hasn't even put him in his squad... for good reason. Mata is a nice guy, but he has been ineffective this season for large periods, he deserved dropping like most of our other attacking players.

Oh and whole Rashford fairytale, please, it is just coincidence that he had to choose him at that time and considering how well he took his chance he hasn't been droppable. Why would you even drop him when you have no one else in that position better anyway. Rooney is... a midfielder.. now apparently and Martial is better on left.

LVG saying if we get just 1 point Utd will be in the Europa group stages and that is not bad, because Utd shall miss the qualification matches.

Mata hasnt made the Spain squad because they have actually ludicrous amounts of talent. Awful comparison

Comparison? I'm not comparing anything. Tyton brought Mata up not me, he has been as useless as most our other attacking players this season.

But seriously, Mata's time at United hasn't been anything special so far, he has had a few good performance but largely he is ineffective. He needs to do more, oh and just for the record, a team of our stature should have the best players and when we supposedly do in Mata, we should be seriously concerned as a club why we haven't got the most out of them and how he hasn't even managed to get to the Euros.

So Pereira only deserved 2 starts this season because Mata has been that good? Hmm. I beg to differ.

Mata has 9 goals and 7 assists - better stats than Pereira - and he is your 2nd most productive attacking player behind Martial.

Explain to me, what possible ******* reason would Van Gaal have to start Pereira over Mata, when Pereira can't even pull off better stats while playing against much inferior opponents in u21? Do you think Pereira's stats will improve if he plays against grown men instead of kids? Didn't think so.

Pereira is good, Mata is better. Pereira is benched, Mata is a starter. That's not unfair treatment, that's life.

Pereira has 8 goals and 7 assists, so he basically is setting the world on fire, he has outgrown u21 and needs move higher up.

Mata has 9 goals, 7 asissts, so he isn't showing anything special in United shirt and he's largely in effective.

Christ Almighty. I'm done, this isn't good for my blood pressure.

This is why I don't like stats. Because it doesn't always give the true story or big picture.

Mata has scored this amount and assisted this amount so therefore he has been good enough this season to be undisputed starter in his position.

It's not at all like that if you watch the games, especially second half of season, he has had period of games throughout where you wouldn't know he is on the pitch and ineffective.

Which fan here genuinely thinks Mata has had a good season, I'd be surprised if we had many other than you, I really would.

Even if we take all of this into account, Pereira still deserved more opportunities, whether that be in league games or cup or whatever else.
 
Mata is and has been a better player than Peireira. When you account for stuff outside the stats this is massively more so, as Mata brings a link up and guile the youngster doesn't yet. If AP deserves more time, it should not be at the expense of a player who has actually been better than him all season.

I don't really care who it is at the expense of to be honest, for him only to have 2 starts this season is just pure madness. All our attacking players this season has been droppable and Mata is one of them.

I don't understand how you reckon Mata has been better than him, it's trying to compare someone hasn't been given a chance to show us what he can do to someone who has. You make it sound like Pereira has had time to show people, he hasn't with the game time in first team this season.
