You've jibbed out of entering the U'23's in the EFL Trophy (formerly Johnstone's Paint) along with ourselves, Arsenal, City and Tottenham. As discussed previously, good idea. **** poor planning and execution.

Can't see as yesterday's newly launched 'Premier League 2' for U'23's will do much of anything to improve the lack of regular, competitive football that's sorely needed at the youth level either.

There s absolutely no indication that Mourinho wanted him. LVG obviously did and probs was planning to buy him this summer. Mourinho quickly went after his obvious first choice and got him. If at all Mane was a fall back option. Stats wise and history wise Mkhitaryan is the better player and was cheaper. Everything obvs makes sense except 2 a blinkered Lfc supporter! Lol.

I don't think so. I think there is a merit in the idea that United had an interest in Mane which is what he claimed as well. But quite obviously that interest never materalized into a concrete offer as United had Mhikitaryan as their first choice.

So Mane is probably fibbing a bit when he said that he chose Liverpool over United. Quite a few players do that to endear themselves to the fans. Even Giroud claimed that he chose Arsenal over Chelsea soon after he joined despite Chelsea not even being tenuously linked to him by anyone.

Meh, you can flip that 'fibbing' both ways to suit whichever case you're trying to make in most instances.

But this is running way beyond what ever it should off a simple observation from a good interview with Mane yesterday so it's best left before anyone in here get's any more touchy.

If Man Utd did make an offer for Mane and he picked Liverpool over us, at least he's embracing the Liverpool spirit of second best :P

Touche my good man haha.

It worked out well for all concerned. We got the far better fit for what we do in Mane. You ended up bagging a top notch fit for yourselves in Metal Mickey.

This is fixing to be quite the season.
