The Manchester United Thread

Well that was bitty. Groups are always a necessary Evil but a real chore to wade through. Bad miss Martial. Terrible effort from the Dutch lad when he blazed over from the right. And that was about that.

Point be a good result but that said I like Mike's attitude to bounce straight back after a defeat with a win.

Based on that first half, it's not been the reaction that we had hoped to see after the City defeat. I'd bring on Depay for Mata, move Martial through the middle & push Rashford out wide right (or visa versa with Martial/Rashford).

The opposition have set up well, and don't look at all intimidated, we need to take the game to them more in the second half, try and get Rashord & Martial running in behind.

Nothing of note, boring first half imo.

We play with a much slower tempo when we don't have those runs made by Shaw and Valencia. I think we should always try to play with one of them if possible. Tonight being an exception with Shaw's knock and Valencia most likely knackered after playing all united games, comes back from international duty on Friday plays City the next day.

Feel a little sorry for Rashford being so isolated but that's generally the lot of a forward in a Mourinho team. Not least away.

I know it was just an instinctive hit by him, but he had the entire left side of the goal to aim for haha

Very disappointing to have players who are good on the ball, but actually seeing none of it.

About what I expected tbh. 8 changes most of which have not kicked a ball this season, different formation and away in Europe is always tough especially for someone like Rashford leading the line alone.

Delighted to see Depay get his chance, hope he makes an impact!

I thought that was super tactical defending from Bailly to play him off, undone by the officials.

I haven't got BT Sports, I'm listening to the game on Talk Sport.
I know it's still early on in his reign, but where is the "SPECIAL ONE".
I haven't seen any difference really from Louis van Gaal reign in performance's so far this season.
I never want Jose Mourinho to given the job in first place, but didn't expect this type of performance from his team.

Only thing you can say for that is absolute ******* *****. Yes there were changes, yes there were players playing that havent played much, yes we was away but come on. Not one decent shot on goal in 90 minutes and it wasnt like we had a team of kids out either. ******* disgrace that performance.

Boring game, poor ref, far too many fouls he kept giving but no punishment. United were shocking. Okay defensively. very poor forward, no attacking threat. No shots, no creativity. NO PRESSING! Thought we would have learnt the importance of that last one after the city game.

What? It's been loads better than LVG so far! We beat the champions in a good game in the Comm Shield. We cruised against Bournmouth and Saints playing some good attacking football at times. Against Hull we absolutely dominated in all aspects was attack verses defence for 90 mins. We played well in the second half of the Derby, and what did you expect tonight free flowing football with most the team changed and not played a game this season.
