The Manchester United Thread

Yesh that was poor. But the deflection was unlucky. Smalling and the team were terrible today! Except Bailly.

True but he was exceptionally lucky not to walk for the blatant trip on Hazard the edge the box that Hazard unbelievably never got the free kick for.

Absolutely stupid to do that to start with. Even worse when you're already on a booking.

You can't give Mou credit for how we performed against Pool and then slag him off for trying the same against Chelsea.

The thing is, it wasn't like Liverpool - Fellaini was pushed up much higher alongside Pogba, leaving Herrera to act that role that they both performed against Liverpool himself.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he wouldn't of played Fellaini so high if we didn't concede the early goal.

On the plus side, City held Southampton to a draw today - so that's a good result for our Europa push this season.

I never thought this season would be a cakewalk, that we'd just buy players and automatically fight for the title. It's not just the new players settling in a new team and in a new league. It's also the radical change of how we played last season and how we woud play under Mourinho.

But so far, we've put on irregular performances. We're not very good neither attacking or defending. Mourinho appears to have signed Pogba without having a clue of how to use him. Fellaini is such a limited player that is hard to understand why the **** he starting over Schneiderlin and Carrick.

It's pretty unfair to jump in the sacking bandwagon so early in the season, but Mourinho must do better with the players he has in hands.

I've not seen the post match presser but I really hope Mourinho doesn't have the nerve to complain about the tackle on Fellaini. As horrible as it was.

Some of our players looked tired in todays game, which is another gripe I have with Mourinho, he needed to rest more of these players today in Thursday's game.

To be fair, one of your worst attributes in the past few years has been off the ball movement, getting that link between attack and defence, playing fluid football. Bringing Mourinho into fix that is a bit like asking Marie Curie to build a spaceship.

Doesn't help that your squad has no focus either. You can play a bunch of formations and styles to a decent standard, but none especially well.

Was not even a free kick even the commentary team said Hazard ran into Bailly.

Didn't say a word, they seeked and seeked for him to comment, but didn't budge

I think Chelsea have to get a lot of credit, their front three were so in sync, but they were helped a lot with some school boy errors in defence.

Luke Shaw needs to come back in at left back, we need pace - Pedro raped Blind today, especially in the first half.

Paul Pogba is not a #10, and unless you're going to play Fellaini in the same role he played against Liverpool, he should not be on the pitch. Carrick should've started, or Pogba deeper and Mata starting... was really surprised about that approach from Jose, perhaps the early goal messed the plan up, but that didn't mean he couldn't make a bold early change.
Idk about carrick, he played full 90 minutes on thursday.

Or you need to work harder and get fitter. He gave them the weekend through the Tuesday the week before the L'pool game and you were goosed after a half hour of hard pressing. Dropped back into an organised deep block to block off the passing lanes well enough. But physically your well short. Brought this up pre-season with the amount of time players were having off and the lax training schedule to be told it isn't a problem in todays game and players are all year round athletes.

The eye test, the actual games, and the running stats are telling a completely different story.

The first 19-15 Fellaini was definitely so high. But after going 2 down Mou defo went more attacking.

Yeh, well lets be honest here, which United fan really wanted Mourinho anyway, I'm only behind him because I have to. Hardly anyone thought Mourinho was a great fit for United and never expected it to happen until we had little else to turn to.

I can quite honestly say with my blinkers off I would rather of gone all out for Pochettino. At least he would of built a dna and style that would seemingly suit United and he does wonders with younger players.

Not writing Mourinho off just yet, but having serious doubts. His career is on the line as well with this job. No top 4 and I expect him to be gone.

Then the Sky commentary team was ******* blind. Both Dixon and Le Saux were slamming him for the base stupidity of it on the feed.

Watch it. He looks at Hazard and moves the leg. He knows EXACTLY what he's doing.

The board never made it easy for the coaches. They should define how the **** we're going to play for the next years and go after coaches that play that way. But no, they appointed Moyes, then Van Gaal and then Mourinho. Van Gaal and Mourinho have such different views in how football should be played that both of them had to start from scratch. And the players each year have to understand different tactics and play in different roles. You just don't buy success, you build it.

Pochettinho was never going to leave. He has only just been at Spurs, and is building something special there. And can run things how he wants with no interference from the board, who are giving him 100% what he wants. Let's give Mou a season first then look where we are Christmas next year. Like I said I expect him to be ruthless in the summer.

Look on the bright side, if this season goes **** up it will have a huge impact on our club commercially and we will be forced to build for the long-term again. Agree with your point though.

Are you having a laugh? Your entire fan base was drooling over Mourinho after the disaster that was LVG and Moyes.
