The Manchester United Thread

I get what you mean Scouse, but Griezmann is actually playing better since it came out. Now whether it happens or not is another thing, but it's having a positive effect, or statue very least, no adverse effect on him.

All reports for years have said that he has massive respect for Simeone. Even if his head is turned for a summer move, he isn't going to stop playing at his best for Atletico this year.

To be honest I was hoping for better this season but considering all the mess he had to undo of LVG and the squad problems we have. I will truly judge Mourinho next season, that is what makes or breaks his reign at United.

Although top 4 this season is still a must in my eyes, if we don't get that it's a massive failure.

Agree Subtle. Also agree not getting into the cl would be a big shame. But I'd rather do it through the europa league final. Trophy and Cl. Double bonus

Or essentially champions league. If we win the europa then I wouldn't care where we finished in the league.

maybe im crazy but i still think we will get top four this season.a few more need to step and contribute goals.imo rashford is trying a little too hard, prob trying to justify his place in the team and i think he should have been used more as a central striker.

Oh yeah. More than confident that we can still make top 4!

I think its a huge problem that major clubs such as United are given the opportunity to compete in the Europa League given the huge disparity in resources between them and the other participants. Especially now that there is an incentive of a CL spot.

Most of the other Europa League participants will never have the opportunity to get the CL spot through their leagues because of the huge disparity between them and the likes of PSG, Madrid, Barcelona etc. Now Europa League avenue is closed off to them as well.

Thus was always the case the UEFA Cup that often made that a much stronger competition in depth when the European Cup was as it should be still. Champions against Champions in a straight knock-out format.

If English clubs from the major European TV market, because let's be honest we're the only Country that has disgracefully sacked off the Europa League, had treated it with the respect it deserves, it wouldn't of come down to having to offer a Champions League place to the winners to garner interest.

If you wouldn't of excluded the bigger clubs when all the end result of winning the UEFA Cup/ Europa League was the honour of winning a European major and entry into the following seasons tournament to defend it; then it'd be completely unfair to now penalise those same clubs just down to the way the money disparity now is across Europe IMHO.

Had Utd down for fourth in here the pre-season predictions. (L'pool, City, 'Spurs were my top 3. That Chelsea run has skewed that.).

Don't see the top 4/5 changing from here on out in whatever order they end up. (The only change I'd think would be City and not Arsenal in the top 4 places.).

Utd are what, 4 behind which is in effect two wins given your paltry GS/ GD. Relying on going on a 4/5 game straight winning run with others dropping points.

Can't see it the ridiculously high pace everyone is rolling at this season but with 45 points left to play for, every place in that top 4 is still wide open.

Ogden and the Express also reporting this morning an Semendo RB from Benfica been a deal agreed. Can't believe anything like from us being linked with players from Benfica, but that Malachians guy and a few other reports not just in Portuguese press saying we are defo still interested in him and Linderlof. If true can see us lining up next season

DDG
Semedo-Bailly-Linderlof-Shaw
New CM- Pogba
Mky-Griezmann-Martial
Zlatan or New STR

can defo see us going for RB, CB, CM, STR and Griezmann. My guess Semedo, Linderlof, Icardi or Lukaku, Bakayoko or Kessie, Griezmann.

Outs- Johnstone, Darmian, Young, Schweinstiger, Januzaj, Wilson, Rooney, Smalling.

Possible loans- Tuanzebe, Joel, Riley, CBJ, TFM, Harrop.

Doubt Mourinho will be looking to replace Valencia; signed a new deal, said he tried to sign him when he was at Madrid to convert him into a RB, and now says he's the best RB in the world.

Everything Utd wanted Ashley Young to be but isn't. By general consensus Utds POY and it's not even close.
