The Manchester United Thread

TOD's point maybe muddled but he definitely is right when he says teams fear us more now at home. Mainly because we attack with so much more pace and intensity. When we recover the ball we're not going to pass it sideways 100 times and let the oppo get into position.

Thank you! Maybe muddled is being a bit kind :) But to me we just don't seem so reliant on DDG this season.

United would be 20 points adrift if it were not for officials, never mind the putrid rub of the green we had in Autumn, INCLUDING errors from officials. Stonewall penalties not given, poor decisions that led to opposition scoring, etc. You can't look at it one way, and not look at it another. As you always said time and time again when things were going against us Scouse; 'evens itself up'.

Oh for **** sake...

It's like dealing with a 'local' in here.

How is it even debatable? You seriously think people feared LVG's football he had us playing over Mourinho's at home?

LVG was easy to defend against, remember the amount of 0-0's at half-time? Oppo sat back and just waited for us to try and penetrate them, which more often than not, we couldn't do, mainly because we were too busy looking sideways rather than forward.

With Mourinho that isn't the case, as I've already explained and is self-explanatory anyway.

van Gaal did have a way better record his first 13 PL home games without anything like last summers spend in Tyton's defence.

The twatter crowd , what is this, the school yard? Crying out loud grow up. Not even going to rationalise with stuff like that

It goes without saying that United are more scary now for teams coming to OT. It's sort of what happens if you spend 150m on attacking talent. Last year people just had to mark Martial and ride their luck for 90 minutes, now there's 3-4 Reds on the pitch that can instantly turn the game around.

But yeah, that's one thing, but last year the best way to beat United was by not trying to beat them, basically. So I don't know what heavy **** TD was smoking, that he saw teams coming to OT guns blazing. Everybody would just invite the pressure and wait for counter. All those clean sheets and overall excellent home record wasn't really thanks to De Gea, it was because most OT games oppo barely got to smell the ball.

I mean, that's ultimately why Van Gaal lost the match going fans. The results at home were brilliant really, probably as good as anything Ferguson managed to produce. But it was so depressingly boring to watch, Manchester suicide hot-lines were probably booming after every game. Every game it was the same ****, opposition would sit back, United would pass it sideways, and you've sometimes had 30 minute passages of play where basically nothing was happening.

Thats a good thing about not being a mod. You don't have to read all that bullshit.

You'd be behind Everton with what happened December and January alone.

But it is what it is and I'm frustrated enough trying to find something without just going through the last few months.
We had tons of decisions that went against us earlier this season.

Mate now Im scared (standing at my window expecting to see the first of the four horsemen gallop from the distance. I mean I love you and sometimes even agree with you (actually more often than most here)but when you consistently are the calmest most prescient poster (as you have been in the last 4/5 pages) Im scared shitless!
