  • WILSON ON THE ROAD TO RECOVERY

    Manchester United striker James Wilson has delivered a positive update on his road to recovery after suffering a knee injury during his loan spell at Derby County.

    Although he is not setting any timeframe on when he will return to action, the 21-year-old is happy to report his operation went well and recent hard work in the gym is starting to pay off.

    It has been a frustrating season for the England Under-21 international, who joined the Rams for the campaign but was hurt in training in mid-October. His response to the setback was to post a message on social media saying he would be back fitter and stronger, and his outlook has not changed.

    "I was hoping that everything went well with the surgery," James explains in an exclusive interview with MUTV. "It was a very simple surgery, Steve Bollen did a great job in doing that. I just know I’m going to be back to what I was before anyway, so I’m just staying positive at the moment.

    "With an ACL [anterior-cruciate ligament], you know it’s going to be like eight months and that pretty much ruled the season out. So, like I say, there is no rush for me. There are days when you’re just trying to get through it and keep going, I’d say, but I think I’m at the best club to come back to for the rehabilitation.

    "The positives are it’s a break and I can kind of work towards things I probably couldn’t do during the season. I’m working hard in the gym and that’s something I’ve probably not had the chance to do with games coming thick and fast everywhere. I think it has benefited me in that way. But, yeah, it’s very frustrating not to be out on the grass every day, knocking the ball about."

    Wilson's finishing ability was always unerring while working his way through the ranks at United and, of course, he scored twice on his senior debut against Hull City. He also netted against QPR and Cambridge United, but much of his time in the past couple of seasons has been spent out on loan.

    "Well, I came back in the summer and my finishing was still there so hopefully, when I get back on the pitch, it will still be there," he says. "I know it will be.”

Not good on the CB front. Jones could be out for the season and Smalling was seen yesterday and today with a leg boot/brace on :(

Really hope to see something like this, with Blind in midfield.. hopefully he'll do good and will play midfield for the rest of the season and next season!

Might lack a bit of height against West Brom tho.. maybe Mensah will come in handy somewhere, or maybe Fellainis injury isn't that bad and he'll play? who knows!

The lack of mobility in that midfield is horrendous. I think we will move to a 343 again to stop help with this or we will see TFM play. One of the two. Can't play a 4231 with those 2 in midfield, just no movement what so ever. I have even heard people talking about playing Valencia in midfield as a possibility.
 
Who's gonna be next to Carrick then? And if Smalling and Jones are injured who's gonna play in that 3 men defense?

I will be very surprised if it's a back 3 with the CBs available. Most probs Blind next to Carrick. Would like to see-

Agree, I like that lineup.. think Darmian might get a shot at LB again since he played for Italy against Holland.. would love for Mensah to play but I think it'll be Martial!

Martial instead of TFM if CM would be a disaster :) Not sure about Darmian seems to have fallen out of favour.
 
Just watching Utd in press. And Ducker said that Utd have started on the framework with the player, for the deal to be ready in place for the Summer for Griezmann.

Very good. And expect this to be the case for all Mourinho targets. He will want all deals all but done so come to the window opening bang and get them wrapped up early. Then can start shipping players out.
 
Few reports we've agreed to sign Aliou Traore on a permanent deal. Don't know much about him apart from was very highly rated at PSG accadamy but left for some reason after contract discussions. Been on trial with a few clubs before us. Coaches were very impressed and moved quick to snap him up. He's a CM btw.
 
Couple of updates:
- We have signed Theo Richardson after his trial.
- Will Vint is signed from Chester's academy, he rejected a deal from Fulham.
- We signed another Irish for the U14s and released a couple of players at that age group.
- U16s beat Urawa Red Diamonds 3-0 on Tuesday (Dolan x 2, Sotona). There's a trialist played.
- We have agreed a deal for former PSG midfielder Aliou Traore who's been on trial.
 
Don't know what state Valencia or Rojo will be in both playing 90 mins at high altitude last night. And most likely won't get back till late today according to Mourinho. Gonna be one **** of a tough game on Saturday.

50/50 atm Mourinho said on MUTV. Will see how he feels tomorrow and have a late fitness test. Not ideal he's not gonna be match fit and he's not the most mobile of players as it is.
