The Manchester United Thread

So i guess this is the end for Luke shaw huh?

Jose just said there's a long way back for Luke shaw. This is the side of Jose I don't like.

Shaw joined United 3? years ago? Since then, he did exactly what? He may be young, but man, he did you anything to come close first team. Bring someone whos good right now, and let see how Shaw develop further. Will he accept the challenge or just continue to waste his chance.

I know he has come back from a leg break and it takes a considerably long time to get back to the sort of level he was at before but it seems Shaw still hasn't grown up and his lack of professionalism is still following him from his Southampton days. Otherwise, he's gonna waste his career because he has the potential to be the best in his position.

He recovered from a horrendous injury. Before hector's tackle, he was having a beast season under LVG.

Only after he told him to lose weight and improve his fitness. You know it's bad when Woy is commenting on his fitness levels.

Yep. Shaw only has himself to blame I guess. The thing that confuses me is that some Journos that have spoke with Mourinho, say things that contradict what Mourinho said yesterday. Maybe he's trying to push him to work harder in training with his comments in his interview. If he's not willing to fully commit then he's better off leaving. Shame but it's no coincidence that numerous managers have questioned things about him. Can't blame Mourinho for any of this.

The 1st pic are those who I think are certain to be here next season.
The 2nd pic are those who I think are uncertain to be here next season, agree? :o

Not saying we're gonna sell everyone in the 2nd pic, but they don't feel 100% safe for the summer?

I wrote this 2 months ago and no one seemed to agree with me, still think we need an LB this summer! Unless Shaw steps his game up :D
Dont think many would still agree. But it all depends on Shaw now. And how he reacts Mourinho praised him the other week and earlier. It's obviously not worked. Now he's trying to put a rocket under him. Agree with both the Nevilles, he needs to respond or he will regret it later on. It's no coincednce that other manager have had issues with Shaw. It's on him not the manager.

Think Zlatan, Blind, Smalling will be here for sure, and pretty sure Carrick will get his extra year. No chance for Darmian, Jones, Rooney. Ed Woodward had already said there won't be a huge turnover of players.

Absolutely agree, I hope he stays and works hard.. but still think we should get another LB to compete with Shaw? Don't think Blind and/or Darmian cuts it, Young is really our best LB now haha

If Carrick doesn't get his contract extended I hope Blind gets a pre-season/season to compete for a midfield spot, really like him as a person/player but not as LB :'(

That would also solve the midfield signing, to use Pogba, Herrera, Fellaini and Blind in midfield

Blind has always performed well at LB and is experience in the dressing room. Think Young will be gone, as the club were willing to let him leave in Jan for the right offer. Darmian will be gone. For me next season dependant on Shaw it would be him as first choice then Blind or CBJ as second choice. Then Rojo as a last resort. That's plenty good enough. If not Shaw then Mendy from Monaco.

Blind will always be a squad player and a good one at that. He likes it here gets regular game time to keep him in the national team and his family is happy. It's obvious we are gonna sign a CM in the Summer. Next season that should leave us with Carrick, Herrera, Pogba, Fellaini, Blind, Periera and a new CM. Maybe even 2 CMs will be signed just a feeling.

I actually agree with RedUnited, I think Blind would be a very good DLP. Great understanding of the game, great vision & passing range, I think he's more than capable of slotting into Carrick's role if needed (not week in, week out XI stuff). But I just don't think he's a Jose Mourinho type of player, hasn't got that physicality that Mourinho tends to opt for in that sort of role in midfield (Carrick's a rare exception). Bakayoko looks a tailor-made Mourinho player.

defo agree with him. Like you just don't think Mourinho will. And looks like Bakayoko is the No1 target. And would be ideal to sit with Pogba in a 4231. Would even be great at the base of a 433 with Herrera and Pogba. Sorry Kitch but Fellaini is staying :) happy to have him as a squad player. He seems happy to be one.

Just me but this Summer I think

Loan- J. Periera, Henderson, Tuanzebe, Williams, Riley, TFM, Willock, Harrop, CBJ

Sold- Johnstone, Varela, Darmian, Jones, Young, Rooney, Wilson, Januzaj (maybe Carrick)

In- Griezmann, Bakayoko, Gimenez, Semedo, STR. Thoughts?
