The Manchester United Thread

James would be okay but he represents the same issue as Mata, Mkhitaryan & Co. No natural width. Everyone barring Martial coming central too much

Agree totally, this for me is a pointless signing, I'm not excited by it at all as it doesn't address any real weakness this squad has. If we went forward with James next season and no one else we'd still have the same problems.

He didn't really **** it up though. It was a truly ****** pass, it goes behind him, against the direction of his run, and I think it also bounced off the ground. I know everybody hates Guidetti but the it's the Celta players obviously shat himself when facing big chance and went for a poor pass instead.

I think you do too much disservice to the guy who passed the ball instead of shoot, when I look at it, to me clearly Romero was diving to the near post so he couldn't shoot there.

Any decent striker would of scored that, it was a tap in by all accounts, bit behind him, bit too much pace, can be disputed, but any true predator would of took it. But his knees were weak and his arms were heavy, he spoilt his mums spaghetti, it was John Guidetti!

Tuanzebe doing a good job on Eriksen. Dirty **** Wanyama!

Sure, but problem was nobody was able to mark Alli.

Leave Rooney in London, Take Kane home on the bus.

And where to leave the additional 60 milli?

Would love to see this in the Super Cup or first league game-

DDG
Valencia-Bailly-Gimenez-Mendy
Fabinho-Pogba
Griezmann-James-Mkytarian
Morata

Big games

DDG
Valencia-Bailly-Gimenez-Mendy
Herrera-Fabinho-Pogba
Griezmann-Morata-Mkytarian

So you're not only want to replace the whole team, but you don't even take Rashford into consideration...

If reports are to be believed then James is pretty much done, and will still cost a bit even though he wants to leave. So I'd say realistically one more big signing. Hopefully Griezeman. I suppose it depends on what happens with De Gea. If James is involved in that deal then we could still make 2 more big signings. Or sign James and Griezeman outright and use DDG as a makeweight for another Madrid player (hopefully Morata). But I think after that we'd be looking at players for reasonable prices which would mostly be covered by sales of deadwood.

All CL dependent, and assuming James is done:

You're looking at Griezmann/Lukaku/Morata (one of)
Oblak if DDG goes.
Gimenez or Keane
DM

That's still pretty optimistic targeting too, not convinced on Morata coming this way at all, totally dependent on Chelsea

I want us to improve in areas we have to in the summer but I'd rather us buy no one than force players like Rashford and Tuanzebe out of our future plans.

These two are good enough to be in our squad now, maybe not playing every game, especially Tuanzebe. But I've been very impressed with Tuanzebe in what I've seen, him and Bailly as a partnership would be quite exciting.

But yes we do need another CB because I'm hoping Jones or Smalling goes this summer.

Goals and assists. All but guarenteed double figure in goals and assists every season. Would take that for sure and he's not a slow as Mata but no speed merchant eaither. Hope both Smalling and Jones go!

Nothing unrealistic about bringing in 6 players, but not 6 players of that quality and money that needs to be spent, regardless of sales. If we don't win the Europa then even less of a chance as our sponsorship's decrease due to no CL again. We will probably make 2 big money signings.
Can defo see us signing 3 top top players. But some will depend on CL. Can easy see us pushing towards 250 after sales. We made nearly 50 in Jan and saved nearly 400k on wages with Schniederlin, Memphis, Schweinstiger off the books. Seen James price around 37-40m which ain't really big money in today's market for a player of his quality.

Rashford will get plenty of games and won't be a guarenteed starter to lead the line next season. No chance!

Smalling was great under under LVG, I have no idea what happened.

So not a lot different to what I said then ;)

Rashford has made 50 appearances this season, **** of a lot for a young player. He's doing all the work, need another forward to supplement him.

Agree on young Alex, bring him in, lose one of Jones or Smalling, bring in a top class defender

DM in too.

Full back areas depend on the likes of Shaw etc

Yeah **** of a lot of games then add on top of that he's said he wants to go to the Euro in the Summer.

As and Marca today reporting that James will cost 50m euros. What's that in pounds about 41/42 Sterling? Not a bad price if you ask me.

Especially with the marketing Adidas reportedly have planned for him. Could work out a very good deal and will have a good sell on value as well. Even if he's a flop we will easily get that money back.

Not keen on James, but always happy to be proven wrong. Need a DM badly though

Do united fans have time and patience for 50mil flops?

Every signing could potentially be a flop regardless of the fee. Especially a South American coming to the Premiership. No guarantee's with any signing.

Flop not sure if serious or not. He's been very good when given a run of games. Was voted best midfielder in Liga in 2015 I think it was. And gets double figures in goals and assist. I will take that flop!

What's your thoughts on Dier if we don't get Fabinho? I like personally very good DM for me. Good at winning the ball back his passing forward has improved a **** of a lot these last 2 years, and seems to know when to keep it simple. Only stumbling block is Levy?

How do people think we will get Dier? Why would he leave Spurs for another PL team? :/

Few reporters saying he's not happy at not being a guarenteed starter or shifting between CM and CB. Sam Wallace on Sunday Supp said he's herd from sources at the club and he's one they would let go for the right price.
