The Manchester United Thread

Just seen that Griezzmann T.V. interview via twitter, very interesting, especially considering he has such respect for Atletico, this definitely isn't a wind up by him.

I'd say this move may depend on two things: -

1) Us acquiring CL

2) Atletico's transfer ban
The ban won't matter imo. Just CL which we've known all along.

But even us acquiring CL may not matter as him and his brother been United fans since childhood.

Bit worried what does this for Pereira mind you, if Grizzi comes. I really want to see Pereira get a shot next season.

If Griezmann signs as Striker it won't affect Pereira? but if he's signed as AM/Winger maybe

Pereira will be fine mate. He can be a creative CM for us, has played and done well there for Granada, which is very useful to have as once Pogba's unavailable, as we've seen this season, we have nobody like him in midfield to deputize. Pereira can be that creative decisive free man in a midfield 3, as well as other attacking positions. Very useful player to have. He'll get more than get his shot of games

Hope he's not signed as a striker, he's best when just off the striker, in some capacity. Remember in Euros when he fed off Giroud like a predator, think it was Giroud anyway.

Hope you're right buddy!

IF! We do get Griezmann and Silva I wonder if that means Rashford will start as the main STR next season. Maybe till Zlatan is back or will Mou go for a decent back like Hernandez?

Agree, he's best when played behind the ST in the #10 role

I dont think its changed that much at all. I dont think where we finish will change too much at all. He will come if he believs we can stay back in there. Obviously winning the EL is helps, but I suspect it will be more down what convinces him we can be in tehr week in and week out. As ever people are convinced by who is going where. Genuinely think Pogba is more of an influence than anything else. In the same way we saw a cluster of Brazilians go to City, and Gundogan sign purely because of Pep, people shouldnt underestimate those things as swing factors

I would like one of those two, not both. Is Silva really that big of an upgrade? I would rather get proper right winger.

Rather leave Miki there. Rashford up front offers so much more movement, they will benefit by having a runner to pick out

You lot are already packed upfront. Miki, Mata, Martial, Rashford and Lingard competing for 3 spots. I doubt you'll be signing two more attacking players.

I'd expect 1) DM - a longterm Carrick replacement. 2) New striker, because Ibra is most likely finished and all the media bullshit about him having superhuman knees is just that - bullshit. 3) possibbly a left back if Mourinho gave up on Shaw.

And a CB because one if not both Smalling and Jones are gone and Rojo is out till December.

Who needs a left back when you've got Mitchel coming through the academy? :)
