What seperates Mourinho from some managers is how he prepares for the summer transfer window and just confirmed in the interview that Woodward has had who he wants to sign for 2 months.

So expect relatively early business again and hopefully fully ready to go for pre-season!
 
Mourinho just said he won't have anything to do with football even transfers. He gave Ed the list he wants months ago and it's his job now. Said he goes on Holiday now and won't speak with anyone till he gets back.

Wont be surprised if most deals are all but done or started anyway.
 
One really telling stat Dolberg's first touch was to kickoff after Pogba scored, Ajax just couldn't get the ball to their danger men with any amount of frequency

He had no service admittedly, but where the **** was his off the ball movement, runs in behind, barely saw him do anything.
 
As good as the little runt was, nice to see him swallow his words. I wish teams would trash-talk us more often before games, first Guidetti now this :P

Only one I'd take right now out of that Ajax side is that ****** Colombian CB, guys a ****** brute and is gonna be a fantastic CB. Yes he's young and we don't really want another young CB, but this guy is something special.

Yeah Sanchez beast of a player. Chelsea faves if reports are to be believed.
 
I was half watching the game, but not properly. It seemed to me like Ajax were on top all game, and united pretty much scored with their openly chances? Ajax had most of the ball but didn't threaten much? What I saw of de Ligt though, he looked fantastic for only 17!

LOL...no. All they did was hold the ball all game with the nice flicks and tricks but did next to nothing in the final third...something you'd expect from an inexperienced side.

Not at all. There wasnt any point in the game where Ajax were on top. Ajax had the ball but only because we let them have it. As soon as they got into our half they couldn't even pass 5 yards to a team mate with absolutely no pressure. We was in control for the entire 90 minutes. Just another example of the stats not telling the true story of the game.

They have a group of fantastic young players. I just hope they stay at Ajax for another 2 or 3 seasons playing week in week out rather than have their heads turned from bigger clubs with money to sit on the bench. Some world class players in the making there. Just a shame the occasion got to them tonight which is understandable. I was expecting a lot more from them. no complaining though :-)
 
Possession doesn't decide who is "on top", they had plenty of the ball, plenty of Van Gaal-esque possession, but did frig all with it. Almost took me back to a year ago to the painful watches. We were as comfortable watching them knocking it around the first two thirds, as we were with the ball ourselves. A complete controlled, professional, gritty performance from start to finish on our behalf.

They had very little width, so all in all, it was pretty easy to defend against - Everything in front of us, nothing direct, a very toothless showing from Ajax in truth. Their CB's were their best players by a clear country mile, a couple of 7/10's among 8 4/10's - 5/10's, that pretty much sums it up.
