The Manchester United Thread

If the reported fee is between 45-55m for Dier that ain't expensive in today's market tbh and he's English and a good player. Think we will be using Rooney to get the fee down on Lukaku and won't be a tough deal with Riola involved after last Summer. Plus there's no way he's gonna cost anything like 80-100m what there after. Guarenteed goals! Tbh not many viable options at ST that are of good quality. Same goes for DM, but Fabinho would be my first choice but he's not miles ahead of Dier in terms of quality. Bonus he can play RB.
The one slightly annoying thing is that despite being English as he came through the academy at Sporting Lisbon he wouldn't count as home grown since as far as that is concerned he is Portuguese

My dream is Sanchez... unfortunately it is just a dream though!

You know I wouldn't want him. Don't get me wrong, he's a top notch player who the vast majority of the time brings a top work ethic with it. He'd fit in perfectly with how we play.

But he's downed tools on more than one occasion when things haven't been going his way. (You could make a very strong case that he's cost Arsenal a CL place by doing that again a few months back.). That's one too many times for me.

And if he did come North to whomever, after all the reasons he gave for London and joining Arsenal, it would just make him look an even bigger mercenary.

I don't know man if you can put that down to him alone, there has been so many players in that Arsenal team who you could accuse of not turning up in big games. Personally I've already admired his work-rate and qualities as a player, I think it's more down to Arsenal generally than him their shortcomings this season (like every other season)!

Oh, without question the whole sorry job lot of them need to take a long hard look at themselves. But within that, if he doesn't take a few weeks off sulking around the Munich disgrace (Didn't sit well him laughing the bench 5-1 down when he'd come off one of those games either), and some very important League games like Palace and West Brom when he may as well of not been on the park, there's every chance they're in the top 4 now which they missed out on by what, 1 point?

When that happens, individually or collectively, there's a question mark hanging over them all going forward as regards trust for me.

Big fan of Perisic in the way I'm a big fan of Willian. We need a winger like that, who can shut down a flank while still being a huge threat, and allow us to overload the other flank.

Dier can GTFO imo

good to see Herrera wanting to stay here for a long time, especially given the ties he has with Valverde

Wonder if Damola still thinks he's desperately average?

Can't wait for him to sign that new contract! He's one of those good players that just gets everything about Utd :)

is dier good enough to get into the first eleven?i think not, which means it would be stupid to shell out 45 mil or whatever on a squad player.Agree with scouse, sanchez would be a gamble too and cant see mou putting up with his *****

Everyone has their opinion but how on earth would Alexis Sanchez be a gamble?? He's one of the worlds best players. I don't think anyone else you can buy who is less of a gamble personally. When you have a team of bottlers behind you, it's only kind of normal he has gone off the boil at times this season and lost interest!

Dier is more than good enough for our first 11 we don't even have a defencive midfielder.

Herrera is my favourite United player, has been for quite a while, he needs to be captain sooner rather than later.

I'm really happy for him that he has finally found his place in this United side and Mourinho deserves credit for that.

Gonna be him or Valencia captain next season surely :)

Still think Carrick and Smalling(If Smalling is still here next season) are ahead of both Herrera and Valencia in the captaincy?

Given Carrick is vice captain I think he will be made captain but as he won't play a Herrera or Valencia will be vice captian for a year then captain

interesting comments from danny rose a few days back, think we could get him but would be an inflated price tag of course
