Fair point, however he seems to have a preference to stay in Italy, something to do with his girlfriend. So I'm just not full of confidence that even if we did fork out the money for him, he'd ever truly settle here.

I think only way Morata leaves is if Mbappe goes to Madrid which I think is now more unlikely with Jardim extension.

Yeah money isn't problem for Utd even if Madrid are really demanding the fee to be paid half now half next year.

Morata is probably two or three steps ahead of Mariano in development and if they were to sell him they would probably need to sign a new striker. After this seasons success they are expected to do well again next season and potentially if they were to lose either Ronaldo or Benzema to a long term injury they would have to rely on Mariano instead of Morata.

Have to wait and see this one out. Personally doubt they will sell, but it's Madrid so expect crazy things.

Wouldn't be as cocksure as your peers that Madrid are done with any de Gea move either.

Navas didn't stop them last time. And as much as Zidane fought for him last year against the President, this is Madrid. They have a habit of making their move late in a window to try f-up the other club.

You can't discount anything there.

I'm not sure United can wait another month for him. He has new contract offer on table from Athletico, which would likely tie him up for next 4-5 years with a bigger buy-out clause.
