The Manchester United Thread

Ahhh. That explains why the draw for the knockouts isn't until February. Playoffs for the second-placed teams.

I was wondering about that delay.

We defo need to start getting Bailly and Lindelöf starting together. Both very good on the ball and both quick across the ground.

man we really missed bailly and pogba yesterday.like i said before im not sure it would have changed the result but we are better with them than without for sure

The FA F-ed us over in '89 by not extending the season after Sheffield. 18 points behind Arsenal we came back from with the game's in hand and barely didn't not win, never mind lose, from the defeat Utd NY's day until that last Friday. The most emotional of emotional Cup Final's the Sat'day. West Ham the Tuesday. Then Arsenal the Friday. Ridiculous final week.

But the chasing pack aren't like that side. And this City team is far better than Graham's first Arsenal side. As good as they were before he bizarrely went the other way and uber-defensive.

It'd take one almighty collapse of epic proportions. And that's before you even start on whether anyone else can go sustain a run to catch them.
By mentioning the 18 point gap in '89 you've just proved that 11 points is a catchable figure even for the current chasing pack, but then it is easy to say that, there are still 5 months of the season to go and who knows what the future holds, a long term injury to Ederson and City will once more have dodgy Bravo in goal seeing as the young Gunn is on loan at Norwich. City have the players to score goals but are still not totally convincing at the back.

Few reports saying that Bailly will be back in the new year after suffering a groin injury on international duty.

How the post-match City vs. United brawl played out last night. [Telegraph]

Love the bare chested Rojo bit marauding to the City changing room Lol. Nutter! :)

The irony in Van Gaal slating someone's style of football lol. It was like death by a 1000 cuts watching Utd under him
It's also interesting to note the number of games Van Gaal's United scored 4 or more goals in a match compared to Jose's. Total number of games for Van Gaal over his two seasons = 4 (including 4-2 vs City) total for Jose todate = 17 now which is more attractive ......

Steverobbos post was spot on about the tactics we used Vs City.

The only time that game plan made a bit of sense was when Ibra came on cos then we had 2 men up top rather than one to lump the ball to.

But that change was made too late and I still have no idea what we were even trying to achieve in the first half.

Still frustrated as **** about it, City looked suspect almost everytime the ball got near Delph. Sadly it was only like 3 times in the whole game and we scored from 1 of them.

Wright believes Mourinho should have used City's celebrations as a way to motivate his players to not give up the title battle just yet.
Speaking on 5 live's Monday Night Club, Wright added: "There's a long way to go in the season.

"Maybe Jose should have said can you hear that next door? Can you see what they're doing? We've got to make sure that we ram this back down their throats instead of turning it into 'Milkgate'. I find it hilarious."

Im sure he doesn’t need to use that to motivate the players tbh. After that they should be motivated enough. Nothing is won or lost yet though!

He does have a point but, that's not the way Jose does things.

NOBODY get's under Mourinho's skin like Guardiola does.

Which is the top and bottom of 'much ado about nothing' Sunday.
