The Manchester United Thread

Just as excited as I am for Alexis I am for Carrick, Gomes, McTominay and Rashford! Let's goooooo

Why the f**k is a premier league keeper punching a ball like that?

Thinking the same.. liking Alexis so far, involved in everything good about us going forward.

Keowns bitterness on commentary making it that much sweeter.

Good professional performance, only gripe would of liked to see more of Gomes.

Yeah would have liked to see gomes got a few more minutes especially as he looked so good when he was on the pitch, but can’t complain overall

Would've liked to see him a bit more, but can understand why Jose was reluctant. Yeovil were a bit aggressive, to say the least.

Good result, minutes in the legs, attackers chipped in, we're in the hat and confident going into the Spurs game.

Forgot to add earlier, how shocking was Keown on commentary duties? Couldn't have been any more salty if he tried. Digs at Sanchez throughout, dig or two at Jose, etc etc.

BBC without surprise got a lot of complaints.

He is one of the biggest saltiest ***** around when dealing with Utd. He’s not even Subtle about it!

I watched a game a few weeks ago in which he was commentating, I don't remamber precisely which match it was, but I was annoyed at his saltiness and ignorance. I think he went past the limits I had known before, though I've not watched one channel in Spain that may have even worse commentarists.

He was all over Everton the last round the Cup the BBC by all accounts.

Swings and roundabouts. Martin Tyler's terrible for being up Utd's ****. Good, impartial commentators are few and far between these days. And the new breed don't know when to stop talking and adding their opinion. You're there to add to a match that should be painting the picture for you the telly. (Radio's different.). You don't need to be constantly chatting ____.

There's a real art to commentating that is sadly getting well lost.

Tyler, the man who went mental when Aguero scored (and im not suggesting he has any ties to City) is a Woking fan. He doesn't give two ***** about United or any other club. What's actually embarrassing is that people believe this guff. As he once said to me: Twitter was the moment football fans disappeared up their own arses. Very few commentators actually care about the teams they are commentating on, even those who have played for them.

They've had a load of complaints. Suspect he'll get a bit of a private telling off. His producer will be livid too. A shame really, because he's actually really insightful generally

Hearing Jorginho reps have been seen in Manchester. Whether that's for the red or blue half remains to be seen, but lets hope (if true) it's the former.

Yeah. He does a **** good job of being impartial and showing that neutrality when he commentates.

It just shines through.

He goes for the big moments, which is what you want from a commentator, he's usually given the United/big games. For the vast majority of his commentating career United have had the positive end of those. The sarcasm doesn't cover up the ignorance about him, especially when you've never spent a second in his company.
